Call for Volunteers!
|
At IWIA we always encourage and have a need for parent involvement! Volunteers are needed for the following two upcoming events!
- Sally Foster Kick-Off - we need 6-7 volunteers for 1-2 hours on Monday, August 24, to help make announcements for all the classes to kick off the sale that day.
- Campus Clean up and BBQ - we are planning a clean up of the campus (grounds, classrooms and buildings) in September. Please join us for an IWIA family BBQ and help keep our campus beautiful!
- Room Parents - we are still actively looking for at least one or two parents interested in being liaison(s) for your child's class(es).
If you are interested or need more information please contact IWIAVolunteers@gmail.com. For more information on volunteer opportunities please check our website at www.imaginewesley.org or the volunteer database imaginewesley.ptomanager.com.

Upcoming Student Testing!
Testing Begins Monday for First Through Eighth Grades
|
Different from previous years at Imagine Wesley, we are not
administering the ITBS (IOWA Test
of Basic Skills) to attain beginning-of-year evaluations of our students' abilities
and skill levels. Beginning now, all
72 Imagine Schools will be administering the SAT 10 Stanford Achievement Test to assess beginning and end-of-year achievement. Streamlining the testing
instrument across all its schools will allow Imagine to better analyze, monitor and compare student
growth.
Next week, August
24 - 29 (with make up days the week after) all Imagine Wesley students in First through Eighth Grades will
participate in the SAT10. Students
will be tested in both reading and mathematics. The SAT10 looks
at individual student achievement as compared to national norms. The test helps both parents and
educators understand what their children know and can do and how they can help.
A report will be provided to the parents/guardians as soon as all scoring is finalized (usually within 3 to 4 weeks after testing is complete).
The most important thing that you can do for your child
during SAT10 testing is make sure that he/she comes to school on the days testing is scheduled. Making up a missed
test means time out of the classroom and losing important learning time that
cannot be made up. In addition to
attendance, your child will do his/her best on the tests if
encouraged to take the tests seriously and give his/her very best
effort. Getting a good night of rest before each testing day and having a good breakfast each morning also is very important!
Please make sure you make an extra effort to get your child to school on time so that he/she can relax and focus on the task before beginning the test each day.
Thank you for supporting your child and our school during
the testing period. Please call the front office, if
you have any questions.

IWIA Before & After Care Program
| In response to the need for a quality
Before/After-Care Program, IWIA is offering in-house child care services for our Imagine Wesley students. The program is utilizing Imagine
Wesley's Georgia-certified teaching professionals and if you choose to register your child, he/she will be
cared for in the secure familiar environment of our own school.
Students will receive a daily snack, homework assistance, media/computer
technology, physical enrichment, leisure reading, and in-door games. Our goal is to engage students in fun,
interactive learning. In addition
to this, clubs and extra-curricular activities are in the works and will be announced shortly!
This is a pre-pay service and you should not plan to leave your child without previous registration or payment! To sign your child up in IWIA's Before and/or After School Program, please pick up a registration form in the front office, pay
the registration fee (15.00 per child), followed by the appropriate amount for the number of
days you are requesting care for your child. The cost of Before Care is $3 per day (per
child) and the cost of After Care is $12 per day (per child).
Please place all applications as well
as payments in the drop box labeled BASP (Before/After School Program). As a pre-paid service, you will be expected to pay all fees at least a
week ahead of time. Also, be sure
to notify your child's teacher when he/she will be staying for After
School.
Please feel free to contact Shirah Frazier at shirah.frazier@imagineschools.com if you have any questions. Thanks, in advance, for your cooperation!

Easy Fundraising Opportunities
Earn Dollars for IWIA With Programs You May Already Use!
|
Below are a few programs many parents already use! Please take the opportunity to sign up for each of the fundraising programs listed below and forward these links to family and friends who may also be willing to support Imagine Wesley!
Box Tops Program - www.btfe.com 1. Shop online at your favorite stores through the Box Tops Marketplace and the school earns cash on every purchase. Stores in the program include Target, Pottery Barn, Kodak Gallery and Shutterfly, the Apple store, The Gap, Walmart, Lillian Vernon and many more... 2. Clip Box Tops from grocery store items throughout the year. If every student turns in only 20 clipped box tops this year we could raise over $1000! Look for box tops on items like Kleenex, Juicy Juice, Ziploc, Gogurts, Cheerios and Pull Ups. For a complete list of participating products check the website. There will be two major box tops drives this year where prizes will be given for participation and highest number clipped. Start collecting (Don't forget to ask family, friends to collect Box Tops for IWIA as well)!
Campbell's Labels - www.labelsforeducation.com Clip UPC labels and beverage caps from products such as Campbell's, V8, and Pepperidge Farm. We can redeem these labels for merchandise for our school like musical instruments or science equipment! Visit the website to see all participating products and what you need to collect from each product. For V8 products it is usually the cap and for all other products it is the UPC code. Ask family and friends to collect Campbell's Labels too!
Georgia Natural Gas - www.trueblueschools.com By enrolling in the TrueBlue Schools program, you automatically help raise money for Imagine Wesley. If you are a Georgia Natural Gas customer just visit the website, sign up and select Imagine Wesley as your school of choice.
Target - www.target.com/tcoe If you have a Target Visa Card, a Target Credit Card or a Target Check Card, you can support IWIA every time you use it. So far we have only 13 cardholders who are supporting Imagine Wesley so sign up your card today by visiting the website!
For any questions about these programs please contact Diane Hilleary at dianehilleary@yahoo.com.
