Marshall-A Key West Cutie...
Marshall
My name may be Marshall, but that doesn't mean that I'm all about law and order.  The truth is I'm more about having fun.  I make my friends at the shelter laugh every time they throw that silly ball for me because I bounce like a kangaroo until I get close enough to pounce on it.  What a great game!  And for anyone who enjoys giving a dog a tummy rub, I'm your man!  For more information on adopting Marshall or any other great animal at the FKSPCA, please call us at 305-294-4857, or visit us at our location at 5230 College Road on Stock Island.

This adorable little kitten is playful and sweet! Play is an important part of his development at this age and he will need you to be patient with him as he learns what it means to be a cat. He would love to have access to lots of toys and daily playtime. If you are ready to care for an adorable boy and give him what kittens need, he will repay you with lots of fun and love!

Hi Everyone!

Well, it's a gorgeous day here in Portland, Oregon.  Sunny, sunny, sunny.  I hope you're having a decent day too.  To get you in the mood for the weekend, here's a favorite song of mine.  Oh, yeah, and, it is indeed Fresh Caught Friday!  Yay!

So, the groundhog was wrong.  And, so is American Idol.  Portland has major talent in it...even though apparently it's not appearing so on the TV this week.  Oh, well.  There's always other options, like pet talent.  Hmm...click here to see a video I made today of our talented Mr. Lucky.  And, speaking of Portland, Portlandia, silliness, etc., the city across the Columbia River, Vancouver, Washington (NOT British Columbia), has always been a sleepy little bedroom community for Portlanders to live in.   I grew up in Vancouver, for goodnesssakes!  It's very relaxed in Vancouver, very suburbia.  The Portland bumper sticker that proudly proclaims "KEEEP PRTLAND WEIRD" has an alternative sticker from Vancouver that proudly proclaims "KEEP VANCOUVER NORMAL".  Ahh, Vancouver.  We are not peas in a pod kind of friends, but we've learned to live next to each other and find our own identities in peace.  Check out the video from Portlandia and then Check out the video from Vancouvria.  Very funny.

And, speaking of Portland, weather, etc., we have a weather machine art piece in the downtown Pioneer Square area, right behind Starbucks!  It's a weird, cool Weather Machine.  It's a 33-foot-tall (10 m) metal column topped with a large silver-colored orb installed in August 1988.  At noon each day, the day's weather is announced with a fanfare of trumpets, flashing lights, and a spray of mist. The orb opens to reveal one of the following: a golden leaf sun, for a clear day; a silver great blue heron, to forecast a drizzly, misty, or overcast day; an open-mouthed copper dragon, when storms are forecast.  Light bulbs on the side of the machine are reminiscent of a mercury thermometer and light up progressively as the temperature increases.  Who needs a groundhog or all those weather people on TV when you have one of these things anyway?!
 I can just see the weather machine for Key West:  At noon each day, margaritas would spill out of the top  into welcoming glasses from locals and tourists, conch fritters would shoot out into wide-open trusting mouths, and Howard Livingston's "Livin' on Key West Time" would fill the air with that "Ain't life great" vibe.  Ahh, I think I'm onto something!  Combine this machine with Sunset Celebration and you gotta party folks!

 It's been kind of a slow news week in Key West this past week, unless you want to complain about perfect 74-degree days, yummy restaurant food or impossibly blue water and sandy beaches.   Now we know why it's been a slow news week.  :}

Until next week, let's see your talented pets!  xomo, Ted and the furry stars.
