Greetings!
Roy L. Smith, an American clergyman, said this about Christmas: "He who has not Christmas in his heart will never find it under a tree." With everything bombarding us this time of year -- Christmas decorations the day after Halloween, blue-light specials at the big-box stores, long lines and the crush of crowds -- it is easy to forget that this is first a time of giving, not receiving.
I believe in and do my best to aspire to the philosophy of the following phrase, which is typically attributed to the Christian Saint Francis of Assisi:
"It is in giving that we receive..."
Remember that as you go about not only the next few weeks, but the entire year.

TECO Client Reception at PELICE
TECO is again a corporate sponsor of PELICE, which brings together over 400 industry professionals and corporate exhibitors for two days of interaction and education.
Randy Goruk of Leaders Edge 360 will be the featured speaker during the reception. Mr. Goruk, who has 35 years of experience in the wood products industry, will share his insights on how to lead an organization through challenging times.

2012 'Another Sluggish Year' for Homebuilders
Economists at Wells Fargo Securities believe that 2012 will be another sluggish year of home building in the United States, with single-family construction being only slightly more active than that of 2011.
Apartment construction remains the bright spot, as multi-family demand continues to benefit from the struggles of the housing market.

2012 NDS and WFCM Now Available
In a press release issued on December 2, the American Wood Council (AWC) announced that the 2012 National Design Specification® (NDS®) for Wood Construction and 2012 Wood Frame Construction Manual (WFCM) for One- and Two-Family Dwellings are now available for purchase in electronic format (PDF) from the AWC website.
The NDS was approved August 15, 2011 as an American National Standard and is designated ANSI/AWC NDS-2012. The WFCM was approved November 29, 2011. Both documents are referenced in the International Code Council's 2012 International Building Code.
