And considering the stimulants the researchers found in these supplements, they were concerned (as I have been for a long time) about possible harm from these useless pills.
In my opinion, many (if not most) of the 'weight loss' pills have a variety of stimulants to 'speed' you up, and make you feel (briefly) stimulated, and fantasizing that you are now somehow burning fat.
Not true. Mother nature is rather concerned about why your heart is racing, and goes in to defense mode. Mother nature controls all, and will not permit you to lose your "stored fuel" (bodyfat) at this time.
Annual global sales of diet supplements are well over 50 Billion dollars a year in North America.
It's a big business (like tobacco once was...) and if we fall for the lie, or permit those we serve to do so, we will in the end be seen as going along with a dangerous fad.
Have the courage to educate those you serve. Have the boldness to teach them about how the right combination of physical activity and energizing foods will help your body find it's proper place.
My stand on this subject doesn't make me popular with a lot of companies, and even some students. It would be easier for me to look the other way. But I cannot.
