Students Care Day |
Eight students from the 2011 Live United Youth Camp joined together to assist Renovation Station, April 16th during Students Care Day. The group of seventh graders helped move donated items throughout the re-store to create better displays. Customers can now locate items more easily, which should help with increasing store sales. All proceeds from the store benefit the Columbus Area Habitat for Humanity. |

Stamp Out Hunger | |
The 19th annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive is the nation's largest single-day food drive. Want to help? Simply leave a bag of non-perishable food where your letter carrier normally delivers your mail on Saturday, May 14. Your letter carrier will pick up and deliver the food to Feeding the Valley Food Bank, a United Way funded partner. The food bank will help distribute to organizations assisting families in need throughout the Chattahoochee Valley.
Examples of non-perishable items include: canned soup, meats and fish; canned vegetables, fruits and juices; boxed goods (such as cereal); and pasta and rice.
Also, volunteers are needed from 2:30 - 6:00 P.M., Saturday, May 14 to help unload donated food items from the mail carts into portable bins that will be taken to the food bank. For more information and to sign up to help, please click here.
