Home Organising Help June 2011
Greetings!

It's been quite a busy time for the Elves.  Whilst taking on new clients and working with our existing clients, we also  handled a large relocation job for a client moving locally.  We packed up the whole house and unpacked and organised it as well.  Had a team of 2-5 Elves on the job for a few weeks.  We are wishing our client much happiness in their new home!

We have lots of news!  I've become a Creative Memories consultant as an add-on to our new

Photograph Organising Services.

Very excited about it all!  We can help you organise both your digital and printed photographs and get them into beautiful photo albums.  Today, I put together a beautifully designed photo album in less than an hour and a half!

I recently spoke at a Mumpreneur's event in Sydney, and thought I'd cover those topics in this newsletter, see below.

Happy to answer any organising questions sent my way!

Warm regards,
Karen Koedding

Balancing

Originally presented to a group of Mumpreneurs (mothers that are entrepreneurs), but applicable to anyone that is alive.  ;-)

To find more time, these are the rules to follow:

1. Learn how long time really is.  Time yourself for a week.  How long does it really take to get out of the house?  How long does it take to get from point a to b including getting out of the house, getting to the car, driving, finding parking, walking to the door?  Make note of these times, stop using estimates.

2. Put a value on your time and spend it wisely.  How much is your time worth?  Pick a number and decide that is your hourly worth, then ask two questions..."Does this activity add value to my life?" and "Do I want to spend my time currency on it?"  If not, forget about it, don't use your time.

3. Say No! (thank you).  Stop over committing, over socializing, over promising.  Decide what your priorities and boundaries are and stick to them.

4. Stop procrastinating.  Imagine how much time you would have if you didn't squander it on avoiding what you already decided to do.  Remind yourself why you decided to do it, what is the pay-off?

5. Use your diary/calendar as a real tool.  Include travel time in your diary before and after appointments.  Back into your starting time.  i.e. going to dinner...backwards is walking to restaurant door, parking, driving, leaving the house, maybe prepping babysitter, getting ready.  You may need to start getting ready at 5pm to arrive for dinner at 8pm.  Always refer to your diary.

6.Plan ahead.  Make meal plans the easy way, just rotate 10-15 meals on a regular basis.  Make lunch, set the breakfast table, lay out clothing, and pack your bag the night before.  Know where your keys are.

7.Declutter.  Clear space = room for creativity and productivity.  Being organised = more time.

Hope these tips help!

About A Little Elf

It is a well known fact that disorganisation creates stress. And you carry this stress around with you everywhere you go.  We will help you to get organized, giving you more time and energy to do the things that are important to you and a new found freedom from chaos and stress.

A Little Elf provides organising solutions, ideas, information, and teaches you new skills to keep up the systems we put in place. We will help you create an organised space that will increase your productivity and allow you to take control of your belongings, clutter, paperwork - or whatever it may be that is stopping you from living a full and productive life, as opposed to these things controlling you.
