Greetings! I just got back from making over the wardrobe fourth winner of the Howards Storage World competition in Melbourne! It's been a real pleasure to work with HSW and the lovely winners on this competition.
Sydney is having a rainy start to winter and I have heard New York is having a gorgeous hot summer. Either way, it is time to sort your wardrobes out and we have some helpful tips below to help you with this process.
Warm regards,

Seasonal Clear Out
| Have you been putting off the seasonal transformation of your home? Whether you want to or not, it is necessary to change over the wardrobe and prepare your home for the new season that has just arrived. Take the time to completely change over your wardrobe this month. This seasonal wardrobe switch will make you so much more organised as well as give you a chance to get rid of all the clothing that you no longer want. Do not be overwhelmed with this process! Simple steps will prepare your closet and home for the winter season in no time.
Stay organized as you switch over your wardrobe. As America stole the sun and is experiencing a great start to their summer season, Sydney is dealing with their daily dose of rainfall. That is okay, what goes around, comes around find. For now though, American's grab your bikini and flip-flips immediately, or for our Australian readers, those cozy trackpants or warm jackets! You will thank yourself later for being organized today. Start by taking all of last season's clothes from the closet and begin to sort through them. Now is the time to get rid of the clothing you have not worn all year. Anything that you do not think you need anymore, place in its own pile to be donated. Then with the clothes you chose to keep, separate them into bins according to the type of clothing. Label each bin by what clothing is inside, such as "swimmers and beach towels", or "sweaters". Store the bins on the top of your closet or the spare room where you will not see them until winter is over. After you have changed your wardrobe, you may want to make other minor adjustments around the house in order to prepare for the weather. Switch your bedding to fit the new season's night and create the perfect sleep. If storing bed covers, space bags are an effective product!
This month not only brings a change in temperature but also the end of the financial year and tax time in Australia. This means time to sort through your tax paperwork. It is important to organise your paperwork. Make this June the month that you finally sort through that pile of paper that is taking over your desk. Go through all of the paper on your desk and throw away anything that you do not need. Take the mail that you are keeping and separate it into personal and home office piles. Then deal with what you can right away. Create major categories for your filing system and then set sub-folder categories within them. This will help you keep track of what you have and make it easy to find it. Once you have organised your paperwork, maintenance is key. Check your mail everyday if possible and decide when opening what is necessary to keep and what is useless. This will save you stress and clutter in the long run.
June is the perfect month for a seasonal clear out. By the end of the month you will find your house is ready for the new season and you are more organised than ever. With all the clutter gone, you can spend more time on what is really important to you.
