Greetings!
Where to begin? This question describes how we feel about the wonderful things God continues to do through the Modern Day Princess program! Every week, stories of changed lives, transformed families, and empowered young ladies come through our office and inspire us. In this newsletter, we want to share some of those incredible stories in the hopes of inspiring you.
In March, Madison Tabet (Miss New Mexico 2010) at joined us at our most recent fundraiser, High Tea for You & Me. She shared her personal story of overcoming the domestic abuse within her own family Her honest story of survival and strength fit beautifully with the MDP goal of teaching our girls to live their lives based on Faith in the face of intense challenges.
So many of the young ladies who have been involved in the MDP program over the last decade have come from families like Madison's - families that look healthy and happy on the outside, but have so many hurts and scars under the surface. These are the families we hear about God touching and changing, one heart at a time, through the MDP program.

"From the beginning to the end (of the program), I was tremendously touched by God's amazing power and presence. Every week I was blessed with the outpouring of His love and provision for girls I never thought had controversy, conflict, or pain in their life. He opened my eyes to how important this study is and the impact it has on not only the lives of the girls, but on their moms and dads as well.
Our ceremony was beautiful and the girls beamed from head to toe. I attached a picture of our group- so gorgeous!!! (see above)
I also wanted to share a card one of the fathers sent me last week. His words:
Dear Elissa
I am writing this testimony, as it has been on my heart. When my wife first told me about the fact that it would be expected of the fathers to say a blessing over our daughters, I put it off. From my past studies I knew what that meant and I wanted no part of it. I have been walking in darkness for years and did not want to hear His voice, but by being forced to speak a blessing my life has changed and I have come to realize I am not condemned.

"Today was our final ceremony and it was sooo beautiful....
In the book you describe what an emotional and endearing event this is. But, today far exceeded my wildest expectations. Dads were crying and ....the whole room was crying. It was amazing to watch the girls faces as their dads blessed them. How they beamed!! Even the shyest girls, so desperately needing their cup to be filled, stood there with glistening eyes soaking in every word their fathers spoke.

It was a lot of work but it was so worth it !"

Where Is God Using MDP?
Robin Gibson, the Director of Camp Gideon and MDP Coordinator, provides the Modern Day Princess journal annually at her Princess Camps. Camp is one of our most influential and talked about programs at Camp Gideon. In a nutshell, Princess Camp is a weekend where girls ages 8-13 from all walks of life come together to learn what it means to be a Daughter of The King and be empowered to make wise choices based on God's Word."

Marisa Perez,
presently our youngest MDP Leader, 19 years old
Marisa has been busy raising funds for her first girls class.
"I was planning on a huge chunk of our budget going towards renting out a facility and now, thanks to my pastor, that load was taken care of. The money I would've spent on the building can now be used towards a nice cake, beautiful flowers and decorations, and anything else that will make this night even more special and memorable for my girls."
Her church, Journey of Faith, in effort to support her desire to reach their community, placed the above ad in their local newspaper.
