Greetings!

Greetings from Beautiful Santa Fe!

What a joy to view the beauty of Spring from my office window .   The trees, bushes and flowers are showing off their lush and vibrant colors.   It prompted me tocherry blossoms think of Christ's death and resurrection that is so profoundly demonstrated to us in nature.  Winter brings what  appears to be death. Almost all vegetation is left looking bare and naked .  Then God brings the snow , like white linen, to cover that deathly appearance.   After months of what feels like a cold tomb Spring arrives and suddenly new life appears in things that were thought to be dead forever . Wow! What a miracle performed for us every year to remind us of Him.

OK, this a full update so let me get started!

RADIO and BLOGTALK INTERVIEWS
Christy Wong, our Tyndale publicist, secured
numerous  interviews for Pam and me in the first quarter of this year.  I enjoyed getting to know the radio hosts and how this radio interview process works!  Here is a link to one of  our interviews  if you haven't had an opportunity to hear us.

 SPEAKING OPPORTUNITIES

Steph's Group - 2009 Cele
April 10th and 11th had Vicki Wafer and I flying to the South for a Purity Conference hosted by Tracy Kirk, the pastor's wife at Calvary Chapel, Knoxville, TN.
More than 120 moms and daughters  attended.  Jaime Jamgochian, who is touring with Point of Grace this year, was our fabulous worship leader.   She has a heart for teen girls and encourages modesty.  She had T-Shirts with the slogan "Modest is Hottest!  They were a big hit - as was the conference.

After the conference I was whisked away in a cuteSteph's Group - 2009 Cele convertible with TC's Southeastern Rep, Naomi Shedd, to meet her Seasoned Sistas' (yes - that is correct for those GA gals)  that were on a weekend getaway in the Georgia

mountains.  What a pleasure to have met such fun and God-hearin' women.  The following day we presented at Gideon Camp in Ackworth, GA, to  a dozen future leaders , hosted by Robin Gibson.  4 amazing DOKA's shared their stories.  I was so blessed to see once again how God is at work in their lives and were profoundedly touched by this ministry!

I wait with expectation to see what God has in store from our many divine encounters.

2010 retreat 'makeup'Twelve beautiful (and nervous) young ladies raced between bathrooms and our library classroom preparing for their Celebration on Sunday, March 21, 2009. In all the chaos, I (Kara) was so blessed to see each of them taking the time to compliment one anothers' appearances and help each other with hair and makeup. This was truly an amazing group of girls.

Having discovered that my mother would be starting Steph's Group - 2009 Celechemotherapy the same week as the scheduled retreat, I had been very concerned about possibly having to cancel the event. But in true Treasured Celebrations style, women who have facilitated BMDP in our area immediately stepped forward to lend a hand. A total of 9 women and 3 alumni helped out, teaching some of the sessions, setting up for events, and countless other overwhelming tasks! This gave each of the retreat participants the unusual blessing of getting to meet and know many different Christian women and potential mentors.

Kara's 2010 RetreatThis retreat was definitely a God-orchestrated time, and these were 12 of the most motivated, focused, and "set-apart" young women I have had the privilege of taking on the BMDP journey.
Special thank yous to Karen Evans, Roberta Cheek, Doreen Hanna, Vicki Wafer, Cici Tercero, Linda Brito, Rita Vigil, Leanne, & Criss Montoya - my own special Girl Friday, and my Princess Alumni: Anica, Bethany, & Amanda. What a beautiful example of Christian unity and sisterhood you all presented for these special Daughters of the King!  I was so blessed.

These 7 beautiful young ladies became the first girls to complete the BMDP Program in  Mississippi earlier this quarter.  Kristy shared in an email "This program really touched hearts...the princesses, the men who spoke blessings over them, EVERYONE...it was one of the most moving moments I have had the privilege to be a part of."
