Earth Kids Wins 2 Best Screenplay Awards
at the 2007 KidsFirst! Film Festival
Los Angeles, Ca., Oct. 15, 2007: JS Media is pleased to announce that Earth Kids, the family feature screenplay by writer/director Arlene Bogna and writer Nicole Schubert has won the 2007 Best Screenplay Award from the 2007 KidsFirst! Film Festival. The writing duo also received the Screenplay Award from festival sponsor Feature Films for Families, a film production and distribution company.

, Arlene Bogna and Nicole Schubert are currently working on their next feature script/project--a female action buddy comedy that Arlene is attached to direct.

The 2007 KidsFirst! Awards Ceremony was held at the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, Ca. Also honored were children's entertainer and book writer Mallory Lewis (Phonics 4 Babies), who received the 2007 KIDS FIRST! Palmer-Vision Award for her contributions to children's programming, Carly Shroeder (Eye of the Dolphin) who won Best Emerging Actress, and Zach Mills (Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium) who received Best Emerging Actor. Winning the Best of Fest films were Charlotte's Web, Paramount; Firehouse Dog, 20th Century Fox; Viola, James Marcus Haney; My Backyard Was A Mountain, Palmavejo Films and Phonics 4 Babies, Starz Home Entertainment.

 Arlene Bogna is an award-winning writer/director. In 2007 she won the Platinum Aurora Award for Best of Show and a Telly Award for the PSA Canvas. Currently, she is in pre-production to direct a comedy she wrote called Whoa Nellie! in which a young woman starts a different life after receiving some dire news.

 Nicole Schubert is an award-winning writer. She enjoyed another side of storytelling while working in the cutting rooms of numerous feature films for Dreamworks, 20th Century Fox, Paramount and Universal, among others. She is currently writing her first teen novel How I Made Out With A Rock Star.

Coalition for Quality Children's Media / KidsFirst! |
Founded in 1991, the Coalition for Quality Children's Media is a national nonprofit organization that works to increase the visibility and availability of quality children's media and to teach children critical viewing skills. The Coalition is comprised of over 10,000 volunteers, including media professionals, policymakers, and parents.
The Coalition created the KidsFirst! program to evaluate, rate and endorse feature films, DVDs, videos, CDs and TV for children. KidsFirst! Film Festival is an international festival that showcases new and classic children's films, TV shows and DVDs from studios, independent producers and youth producers and travels to over 100 venues nationwide annually. |
