Today the Hawk Takes One Chick

Capturing day-to-day life in a rural society on the threshold of simultaneous collapse and reinvention. The Lubombo region of Swaziland suffers from the world's highest prevalence of HIV and the lowest life expectancy. This observational film is told from the poignant perspective of three grandmothers (gogos) who have become instrumental in defining a new world order in the fight against the spread of HIV. http://janegillooly.com/

The Docyard is a bi-weekly film and discussion series at the Brattle Theater in Harvard Sq. (MAP.)
To keep the conversation going, each screening and discussion will be followed by a gathering at NOIR at the Charles Hotel.

Founded earlier this year, the DocYard is a series celebrating what is exciting, innovative and extraordinary in non-fiction film with a goal of growing a vibrant, creative community for Boston's filmmakers, film students and film lovers. The series is a collaboration between the LEF Foundation, the Camden International Film Festival and Principle Pictures.
