2013 National Merit Semifinalists

Seniors Willy Reichert and Greg Reilly, who were among the nearly 1.5 million students to take the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT ®) last year as juniors, were announced today as Semifinalists in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Only around 16,000 students nationally - about 1 percent of all test-takers - earned this distinction.

The PSAT/NMSQT® is administered by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), a not-for-profit organization established in 1955 specifically to conduct the annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

From the approximately 16,000 Semifinalists, about 15,000 are expected to later advance to the Finalist level and become eligible to win National Merit Scholarships. Merit Scholar designees are selected on the basis of their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.

DeSales would like to congratulate these bright and talented young men.  Our community could not be any happier for Willy and Greg and their families!
