Computer Maintenance Tips
Computers towers have fans to keep them cool like most other electrical devices. These fans can become clogged with dirt hair and other debris causing premature computer shut down and data loss, some towers have 3 or more fans. All computer towers have cases that can be easily disassembled and cleaned. Purchase a can of compressed air from your local office supply store to blow the dirt off components.
It is best to backup critical files to a removable drive before working with your hardware. If you have more than one USB cable plugged into your tower, mark the cables and which port they plug into (we put tape on the cables and number them 1, 2, 3, 4 etc). Use a felt tip marker or tape and mark each port as you pull the cables out. Following this procedure will prevent your computer from installing duplicate drivers as printers and other devices are port specific.
