SLOW MOTION DRILLS
When ‘Complex Motions’ happen at high speed, we
can see the overall picture. This is what your ‘555
TEAM’ calls the ‘Big Picture’. If we are
making the ‘Motion’ then we should ‘Feel The Big
Picture’. There is beauty in this observation and
being your swing!
However, at high speed, we miss or cannot
‘Isolate The Parts’ and evaluate the
discipline of the ‘Motion’, which is necessary in fine
tuning the ‘Art Form’. We need the ‘Big Picture’ to
unfold slowly to really learn the motion! If we have a
machine that is all interconnected by solid matter or
hard components, the movements can be made
in ‘Slow Motion’ with relative ease. If we desire to
observe the fine details of the ‘Hummingbird’s
Motions’, it is impossible with this little creature
at ‘Real Life Speed’. So we record the motion with a
very accurate 'High Speed Video Capture' camera
and then ‘Slow It Down’ with electronics. The
revelation is magnificent!
So too with the ‘Golf Swing’. When we slow it down
to 2000th frame second bytes, we can see
intricacies that are useful and very relevant. It was
not until this concept was pressed into ‘Golf Reality’
that we ‘Teaching Professionals and Analysts’ really
had an opportunity to examine the truth and dismiss
the myth! It was not until the advent of this
technology that we discovered the ‘Transverse
Abdominus Rectus Muscles’ (across the bladder)
to be the first to ‘Trigger The DOFT Move’ and
thus ‘Un-Load, Un-Coil Un-Wind and Release’
their ‘Stored or Potential Energy’ (see ‘ALSDR’). The
myths fell hard in a heap to the ground!
We are all about ‘Pre-Selected Components and
Procedures’ located in both the ‘Lower and
Upper Body Machines’ and coordinating to make
balanced ‘Motions and Actions’ that create or
accomplish ‘Work’.
The ‘Golf Ball’ goes away as a result of
this ‘Symphony Of Motion’. ‘Golf’ Is More Art
Form Than Mechanics’, 'More Poetry Than
Prose’. See if you can come to ‘Feel This
Perspective’.
Your ‘555 TEAM’ speaks constantly about ‘RPM
& TIMING’. This means that the complex array
of ‘Components’ move cooperatively via ‘Procedures’
(‘FORCE’) to do ‘WORK’. These two terms, ‘RPM &
Timing’, refer especially to the ‘Upper Body Machine
Components’ relationship to the very stable and
dominant ‘Lower Body Machine Parts’, especially
through the ‘Bottom Half Of The Motion Circle’.
That is where the ‘Moment Of Truth’ resides.
(‘Compression & Line Of Compression’) That is when
the ‘Components’ have to all culminate in
the ‘IMPACT & SEPARATION Event’.
That is where all the ‘Kinetic Energy’ is applied to the
‘Little White Ball’ so it ‘Compresses’ out of its
original static shape or form (‘Squashed Out Of
Round’) and then ‘Resumes’ or is ‘Restored’ to its
original shape (‘Round’). This is where the ‘Rubber
Explosively Meets The Road’!
We are well served if we can both ‘SEE & FEEL’
this ‘Golf Event’ or time line. We will be enlightened if
we can experience and appreciate this ‘Sequence
of Procedures In Slow Motion’.
Your ‘555 TEAM’ finds the ‘Bottom Half Of The
Swing Circle’ to be very important for it is only in
this ‘Lower Geometric Segment’ that the ‘Subject
Clubhead Is Advancing On The Object Ball’. In
the ‘Front Swing Top Half’, the ‘Clubhead Steel Is
Retreating’ or going the wrong way. (see Swing
Sequence #6a, #6b and #7)
In the ‘Down & Out Swing’ the ‘LBM Hips Are
LEADING The LAGGING Upper Body Machine
Parts’. The ‘Hands, Wrists, Forearms, Elbows,
Upper Arms and Shoulder Sockets’ trail the ‘Lower
Body’ and remain in a ‘State Of Drag Link Tension’.
The ‘Horizontal Round & Round Machine’
stays ahead of the ‘Lever Assemblies’ (‘UBM’). In this
manner there is ‘Acceleration’ (‘Flat Target Wrist’)
and no ‘Decelerated Throw-Away’ (‘Bent Target
Wrist’).
If you ‘Flip-Hand Deliver’ through the ‘IMPACT &
SEPARATION Zone’ and have aspirations of ‘PGA
Tour’, you are fooling yourself and your financial
source!
Your ‘555 TEAM’ has observed that fine ‘Golfing
Athletes’, with proper or good ‘RPM and TIMING’,
have a space or distance between the ‘Butt Of The
Grip, Base Pad or Heel of the Target Hand and the
Driving Brace Hip’ at the ‘Horizontal Shaft Position’
which is ‘Swing Sequence #7’ ('Pre-Impact') in
the ‘Front and Down Swing’.
This relationship remains relatively constant through
the ‘IMPACT & SEPARATION Zone’. This interval can
be looked upon as being from ‘Horizontal
Shaft Position SS #7 at Pre-IMPACT’ to ‘Horizontal
Shaft Position SS #9 at Post-IMPACT’.
It is sometimes referred to as the ‘Turn Drop Turn or
Turn Turn Turn Interval’. Stand up and try it right
now, ‘In Slow Motion’!
Remember, it is only the ‘LBM’ that makes
the ‘Horizontal Turning Motion’, that moves
the ‘Clubhead Forward’. Stick the ‘Butt Of The Grip
Into Your Belly Button’ and ‘Turn Your Hips’.
Your ‘Clubhead & Quiet Hands’ remain in front of your
Hips. This is the ‘RPM FEEL’. Learn it well!
Use it consistently!
If you can manage this ‘Slow Motion Drill’ you
will ‘Feel’ and reveal the ‘Physical Truth’ about
the ‘Lower Half Of The Swing Circle’ and,
indeed, the entire ‘Golf Swing’. (‘Slow progresses to
Medium and then to Fast’)
You will learn the reality from ‘Trigger to Spent’ or
start to finish. When you are aware of the
correct ‘Motions’ for you, then it will become
possible for you to ‘Repeat The Feel and Motions’.
This will enable you to make two or more
successive ‘Golf Motions’ that are virtually identical
and producing the same results shot after shot,
round after round, championship after championship!
