"We Make Linen Interesting!"

 linen lingo
Greetings!

Success!
AND THE SHOW GOES ON!  Yes, we've all had a few minor road blocks and have been tested, but the Tipton Team stands strong.  Last month I quoted Winston Churchill~"To improve is to change, to succeed is to change often."  Well....we took heed of those words and made some changes.  I have been with Tipton Linen for 8 years and have always been based at our Cape Girardeau, MO. facility.  NOW,  I'm working in the big city and bright lights of St. Louis, MO.  I'm very excited about the transition to St. Louis.  It's going to allow me to get to know our customer's that are served out of this branch and expand my knowledge of the business.

Now, I haven't completely taken myself out of Cape Girardeau, because I have great customer relationships to continue to improve but, I now look forward to meeting with and building relationships just as strong in the St. Louis area.  I've already met quite a few of our great customer's and look forward to meeting all.  My contact info is listed below off to the right in this newsletter, please contact me at anytime should you need my assistance.

A BIG THANK YOU! to all for forwarding this newsletter and past newsletters!  We're now more than half-way through 2012 which is unbelievable, and also means "BACK 2 SCHOOL!"  Tipton Linen provides service to numerous amounts of schools throughout Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois and other surrounding areas.  As the start of school draws near, please keep in mind that we have various programs to help maintain your school districts budget of operation.  Contact your Route Service Rep or one of our Account Analyst to ensure your getting maximized usage from your current program.
Please don't forget to connect with Tipton Linen on your favorite social media site. Thank you all very much.

Tipton Linen AND....17th St. Bar and Grill

Barbecue = Food +
Family + Love

Barbecue soothes the soul. It's simple in philosophy and rich in tradition. It's an art and a craft, a love and a passion. It's provided us with a life full of
friendship and love.~Mike Mills

In the world of BBQ champion pitmaster Mike Mills is affectionately known as "The Legend." He presides over the pits at his six nationally acclaimed barbecue restaurants - four 17th Street Bar & Grill restaurants in Southern Illinois and two Memphis Championship BBQ restaurants in Las Vegas.

In the early 1990s, he was co-captain of the Apple City Barbecue team, one of the most celebrated teams ever on the circuit. He is a four-time World Champion and three-time Grand World Champion at Memphis in May, otherwise known as the Super Bowl of Swine. He is also the 1992 Grand Champion of the Jack Daniel's World Invitational Barbecue Cooking Contest and he won the Jack Daniel's Sauce Contest that year as well.

You guessed it.  17th St. called upon Tipton Linen to partner with to run a successful linen program.  Tipton Linen provides 17th St. with linens for their private catering events to linens for everyday restaurant use.  Even safety kitchen matting and those fancy customized logo mats!

We're proud to have 17th St BBQ as a business partner.  We look forward to years of continued success together!  Thanks 17th. Now I'll end it with their famous quote.  "Peace, Love and BBQ!"

Art of napkin folding
Napkin Folding
Have you ever wondered how to make those tricky napkin folds?  Whether casual or fine dining Tipton Linen can help you master your fold of choice.  Just visit our how-to page and select the fold that works for your restaurant.
Laundry Tip:
towels
To remove a musty smell from towels, add a cup of white vinegar to the load of laundry and let the towels sit in the vinegar and laundry detergent solution for 30 to 45 minutes. Then finish load as normal. Repeat if the musty smell remains after towels are dried.  And NO! they won't smell like a SALAD afterwards.

Look for more helpful tips next month OR on our facebook and twitter page.

Differentiate and Dominate!

-Don't do what everyone else is doing!

I'm not sure if we've ever met.  But, if we have you know that I'm all about getting things accomplished.  I'm not "Mr. Positive Thinking" and  I'm not going to take you out to the garden and chant "there's no weeds, there's no weeds, there's no weeds." But, I will take you out to the garden and show you where the weeds are and say let's work together and get them out!

It's all about how you look at things.

For expample.  Some people freeze to death in the winter..... other people ski and snowboard.

Have you ever played a video game with a child?  If so....who won?  Or if not.  Who do you think will win?....you guessed it (the child.) WHY? Do you think it's because the child is smarter, faster or stronger?  Nope.  I thinks it's because they've played the game before.  So because they've played the game before, they know the road ahead.  And if you know the road ahead you have the ultimate advantage over everyone around you.

How is this relevant to your business you ask?

Because when you know the road ahead you can "anticipate."

People, customer's, cultures and business' are ever changing.  If you anticipate what's coming you'll be leaps and bounds ahead of the game and your competition.

So, if you're not anticipating, what do you have to do?...react.  Don't wait for the "times" to change and then react.

Anticipate and be ready!

Tipton Linen will be ready for any "change" our customer's need.  I assume you can figure out why!

Differentiate and Dominate!~jm
