Partners in Parks Update
Work will soon be starting on Art Wall to be installed at Citrus Ranch Park. Later this month we are slated to receive City Council approval for the project and the artwork submitted by our selected artist, Mike Tauber of Laguna Beach. The design depicts the panoramic view from the park's hilltop gazebo including the surrounding lemon grove and Saddleback Mountain, a lasting representation of our beautiful community. Please consider supporting this joint effort between TCF and the City of Tustin, our first public art project, by visiting www.partnersinparks.org and learn more about our artist at http://miketauberstudios.com/index.html. |
Americans buy nearly 3 billion dry-cell batteries every year to power cell phones, remotes, watches, laptops, portable power tools and toys. Batteries contain toxic chemicals and metals, including mercury and lead, which can cause birth defects and life-threatening diseases. The City of Tustin makes it easy to recycle used batteries at a location near you. Click here for a directory of battery and fluorescent bulb collection points in the greater Tustin area. The more we each do to stop the spread of toxic materials, the healthier we'll all be.

SUNDAY SUPPER
Their day to day lives are uncertain. Yet, each week, guests find sanctuary at Sunday Supper, a group of local congregations working together to provide food to people in our community who are hungry. The number of guests continue to grow but their profile has remained the same since the first Sunday Supper in July 2010: 1/3 are elderly men and women, 1/3 are families with children and 1/3 are homeless. Each guest is treated with dignity and respect, meals are cooked with love, and everyone leaves with take-home groceries knowing that they will be welcomed back the following week. Meals are served at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Tustin but the host congregation and volunteers rotate between St. Paul's, Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Congregation B'nai Israel and the Tree of Life.
