Mayor's Inaugural Dinner
The Tustin Community Foundation thanks newly elected Mayor John Nielsen for allowing the Foundation to use this dinner to raise funds for our community programs that enhance the greater Tustin area. Underwritten by local individuals and businesses, this year's event will be held on Thursday, February 2 at the Tustin Ranch Golf Club and looks to be the most exciting dinner yet. Guests will mingle with business and community leaders, friends, elected officials, and city and county representatives, The evening will kick-off with hors d' oeuvres, cocktails, music by the fabulous Beckman High School Orchestra and a Silent Auction. Excellent entertainment and a "friendly" roast of the new Mayor will follow a first class dinner.

YMCA IS A TCF GRANT RECIPIENT
The Estock YMCA Childcare Program, a program of the YMCA of Orange County based in Tustin, is a proud first-time recipient of a Tustin Community Foundation Grant. Funds will be used towards a computer software program aimed at developing children's skills towards digital movie making and digital photography. The new computer program will be used by all 48 children served annually by the Y program at Estock Elementary and will compliment Estock Y's new collaborative relationship with Orange County High School of the Arts. The children of OCHSA will be joining the Y program occasionally in 2012 to share their talents with children in Y Afterschool Care right here in Tustin. Special thanks to Estock YMCA Program Director, Elizabeth Medina for her efforts on this grant and in making children's lives brighter everyday in Tustin.

It's a sunny day in Tustin but January is a good time to remember that there are quite a few ways to save money on your heating costs this winter besides putting on a sweater and lowering your thermostat.
- Install a programmable thermostat
- Consider turning off the heat or just closing vents in rooms that are not heavily used
- Change your filter monthly so your furnace doesn't have to work as hard
- Plug leaks around windows and doors
