Tustin Community Foundation's
LIVEgreen Tip of the Month

Here's a recycling tip that may surprise you...Your dishwasher uses much less water than washing by hand! Just make sure your dishwasher is full and remember to let the dishes air dry.

THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SUPPORTS "REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE"
Through their LIVEgreen program, the Tustin Community Foundation partnered with the Salvation Army and the Tustin Meadows Community to "Reduce, Reuse, Recycle" at the Tustin Meadows Dumpster Days on May 21 and May 22. The Salvation Army's truck picked up reusable items to sell in their Thrift Store. Tustin Meadows' residents benefitted since they pay by the pound for the dumpster haul away. The Community Foundation hopes that other neighborhoods will follow this example in the future.

The Community Foundation's LIVEgreen program aims to raise environmental awareness in the greater Tustin area and address the need for increased motivation for conservation. Visit the Foundation's website for tips on reducing waste at home and at the office, planning zero waste events, composting and water conservation advice.

For more information, please contact Donna Peery at             LIVEgreen@tustincommunityfoundation.org.

"We were thrilled to launch our new "VOLUNTEER IN TUSTIN" website at the luncheon, because we know it will help organizations attract volunteers, financial supporters, and it will help develop partnerships among non-profits and local businesses," said the Foundation's Executive Director, Erin Nielsen.
