Tustin Community Foundation's
LIVEgreen Tip of the Month:
Did you know....Plastic silverware is NOT recyclable. The next time you pack a picnic basket or lunch, pack metal silverware that can be
washed and reused. It will save our landfills.
**This Saturday, April 30th is Free Compost Day, courtesy of the City of Tustin and CR&R Environmental Services. You must be a Tustin Resident in zip codes 92780 or 92782 and present your coupon (from your trash bill). The compost give-a-way is from 8-12 at the Main Street Water Facility, 235 E. Main Street, Tustin. Free Compost Day is part of the Tustin Community Foundation's LIVEgreen program. |

Tustin Community Foundation Creates Smiles
A Pancake Breakfast Sweetens the City's Egg Hunt
Two thousand flapjacks were served up on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the Pancake Breakfast held in conjunction with the City of Tustin's annual Egg Hunt. For a nominal fee, Tustin families enjoyed a hearty breakfast put on by the Tustin Community Foundation, with the generous help of these local businesses: Black Angus Steakhouse, Costco Tustin Ranch, K&A Catering, Peet's Coffee & Tea, 7-Eleven and Tustin Graphics. Thank you to volunteers from Mission Hope Covenant Church and to the City of Tustin.
"With this annual event, the Foundation's focus is to spread a little sweetness and fun for children and their parents," said the Foundation's Chairperson Irene Jones. |

Sycamore Benefactors Sow Seeds of Success
The Tustin Community Foundation is reaching out to those who live and work in the greater Tustin area to raise $50,000 this year, and $250,000 over the next 5 years. We plan to place these gifts in a permanent endowment fund to provide income in perpetuity, assuring that we will continue to be able to maintain, improve, and enhance our current programs and services; and have the opportunity to implement new ones to meet the growing needs of our community.
To help us meet our campaign goal, we hope you will consider making an annual gift of $1,000. We are suggesting this amount because, as you can appreciate, a campaign of this magnitude and limited time frame requires a certain number of leadership gifts at a significant dollar level. You may make a single donation of $1,000 or contribute in eight installments of $125.
Alex Moving & Storage, CR&R Waste Services, DOCTORS Ambulance Services, Inc., Law Offices of Peter Holzer, Mission Hope Covenant Church, Ms. Gretchen Whisler, Ms. Jennifer Coulson, Southern California Edison and Tustin Community Bank have joined an exclusive group of local philanthropists to make a significant impact and help build a legacy that will give back to our community for years to come.
