Minneapolis to Switch to Single-Sort Recycling in 2013

The Minneapolis City Council and Mayor Rybak recently approved a plan to roll out one container recycling city-wide in 2013.

All recyclables will go in one bin -- no more sorting! Until the new system is in place, please continue to separate your recycling.

No Response from Bigos Development
After CIDNA's Opposition

At its April meeting, the CIDNA Board voted unanimously to oppose a 13-story apartment tower proposed by Bigos Management at 2622 W Lake St.

Bigos

CIDNA has subsequently contacted both the developer and the architect, but there has been no official response.

See cidnalanduse.wordpress.com for a complete description of the project and CIDNA's position.  Contact Bob Corrick, Chair of the Land Use and Development Committee, with questions or comments at corrickcidna@gmail.com.

CIDNA encourages development on the site that respects current zoning and the sensitive context of the property including parks, lakes, Greenway and adjacent residences. In 2006, CIDNA supported the Lander project with two towers on Lake Street, 84 and 70 feet high, stepping down to two stories on the Midtown Greenway. The project was not built as a consequence of the 2008 Recession.
