Attend a free energy workshop and learn about easy ways to save energy in your home.
Community Energy Services, CES, is a one-stop residential energy program.
CES begins with FREE educational workshops where you learn low-cost, no-cost ways to save energy in your home. Next, schedule a customized home energy visit where you receive up to $400 in services and materials for a co-pay of only $30! To make it even better, CIDNA NRP funds will reimburse the co-pay for the first 100 homeowners who participate, giving you a $400 value for FREE!
CIDNA is competing for $5,000 in grant funds based on neighborhood participation and we need you to help us win!

Gill Net Fishing on Cedar Lake
Members of the Great Oyate (Dakota, Lakota, Nakota) will be gill net fishing on Cedar Lake on Friday, May 13. Supporters of treaty rights will be present. Law enforcement officers are also expected to be present to prevent the fishing. Emily Puetz, MPS Deputy Chief Academic Officer will be our guest speaker with discussion to follow. General Q&A will be led by Theresa Battle, Associate Superintendent for Area C.
Interpreters available for Spanish and Somali speaking parents. Childcare will be available for ages 3 & up, all children are welcome.

The 5th Police Precinct recently sent out the first edition of their quarterly newsletter "5th Precinct Spotlight".

5th Precinct Open House
You are invited to the 5th Precinct's Open House featuring family oriented events including demonstrations and information from K9, the Bomb Unit, Mounted Patrol, and many more city departments. Primp Your Park!
Garden clean-up date at Park Siding Park is set.
Join the Park Siding volunteer gardeners for spring clean-up.
Saturday, May 21
Beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Park Siding Park

Arrive when you can and stay as long as you can! Help the volunteers prepare the gardens for the growing season. No gardening expertise is needed.
Bring work gloves and small hand tools if you have them.
Volunteers are also needed to help throughout the season (watering etc.)

Burglary Prevention Workshop
Join CIDNA and Minneapolis Police Department Fifth Precinct Crime Prevention Specialist Chelsea Adams for a workshop on burglary prevention.
The presentation will include a short video of an interview with a career burglar and cover topics such as landscaping, lighting and how to secure your home. Although the topic focuses on residential burglaries, the Crime Prevention Specialist can answer questions regarding rental and commercial properties. Earth Day Clean Up
Thank you to the nearly 50 volunteers who braved a cold April day to help with the Earth Day Clean Up!

Minneapolis Park Board/NCEC
The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) is now accepting applications from Minneapolis residents for appointment to a two-year term on the Neighborhood and Community Engagement Commission (NCEC).
The role of the NCEC is to shape how the City of Minneapolis engages residents and works with neighborhood and community organizations, as well as to oversee programming details and funding for neighborhood revitalization work.
