Primp Your Park!
Spring is here, and it's time to get outdoors and enjoy our beautiful parks.
Park Siding Park (located at 28th Street and Dean Court) is a hidden gem in the midst of the city.
Did you know that the gardens in Park Siding Park are maintained entirely by volunteers? Leading the charge (as she has done since the park renovation was complete in 1996) is CIDNA resident Cher Simer. Cher and a group of volunteers (including Nancy Green, Kathy Hendricks, Sandi Larson, Pat Shirley and Carol Shorrock) tend the gardens throughout the season by weeding, watering and pruning.
CIDNA extends a big thank you to these volunteers for their commitment to the park.
CIDNA is in need of additional volunteers to help maintain the gardens. No gardening expertise is needed, just a willingness to help keep the gardens beautiful. Here's how you can help: send your e-mail address and contact information to Monica Smith at info@cinda.org or 612-821-0131. We are looking for volunteers for a spring garden clean-up and maintenance day (the date will be announced soon!) as well as volunteers to help throughout the season (watering etc.)
Please join our wonderful CIDNA volunteers in this effort. Send your e-mail address to Monica today!
