A message from the Northgate

Chamber President

As we move from the dark days of winter, the promise of spring is showing its face.  The change of seasons brings with it the renewal of energy to move forward.

Over the winter, there was time to reflect on the full effect of last year's endeavors and adjust the plans for this year.  Now is the time to fully engage those plans in service to our customers, clients and the community.  One of the ways I find to improve the outcomes for this year is to clear away the clutter that accumulates and is no longer of service.  Once the clutter of the past is gone there is room for fresh ideas and initiatives.

I am excited about the initiatives the Northgate Chamber of Commerce is undertaking to serve our community better.  We have had the first of our co-sponsored networking breakfasts and an outstanding afterhours event.  Our next event happens mid-March with our Quarterly Impact Luncheon.  In perfect outworking, we have a panel presentation "What does it mean to be Green".  Helping businesses learn to operate more environmentally sound will pay benefits for the whole community.

There is a strong alliance forming with North Seattle Community College to integrate students into our local workforce through internships that will be launched very soon.  The new GM at Northgate Mall is engaging with the chamber to increase involvement with building our community.  Many of the seeds that were planted over the winter are now germinating and will grow into a stronger and healthier business community.

The mission of the chamber is to increase the reach of business through connection, communication and education.  The way to maximize your opportunities in our community is to get involved through participation, volunteering and communicating your needs.  Come grow with us!!
