Community Gathering in Support of Judge Walker's Ruling Dec. 6, 2010
Precedes start or oral arguments in appeal
Save the Date and plan to join Marriage Equality USA leaders, California Faith for Equality, American Foundation for Equal Rights, Chief Deputy City Attorney Theresa Stewart, couples who want to marry and many more!
Together we will share the fellowship of courage, hope and strength and send up a cheer for equality and support for the parties, organizations and attorneys involved in this important moment in our movement's history happening right in our backyard.
Don't miss the opportunity to be a witness and a participant standing on the side of love - be counted. There will be LOTS of free strong coffee provided to those willing to get up that early and join us. Extended family and friends and couples are encouraged to bring copies of their marriage licenses, photos from their weddings or anything that might help illustrate the importance of marriage equality and/or our experiences of getting married.
Oral arguments in Perry v Schwarzenegger, the appellate review of Judge Walker's federal trial court ruling that found Prop 8 unconstitutional, is scheduled for December 6, 2010 from 10:00am to noon.
The 3 judge panel and courtroom is TBA but will be at THE JAMES R. BROWNING COURTHOUSE 95 7TH STREET, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94103. There will be no seating available in the courtroom but we can all gather in the overflow rooms which will broadcast the proceedings.
The courthouse is one block South of the Civic Center MUNI/BART exit and there is a variety of paid public parking (around $20) in the surrounding area. To get tweets and updates from the hearings follow us at https://twitter.com/MEUSA.
