Strategic Planning

I just returned from being interviewed by Bill Grimes of Studio Cascade, a company that specializes in Community Planning & Design, and one of the companies hired by the City of Mill Creek to help them with building a strategic plan. In the next couple of weeks the Mill Creek City Council will be meeting with consultants at a retreat to work on this project. Before this happens, Bill and his team will have interviewed various individuals to get some ideas on what those who work or live in Mill Creek think about their city. Soon after the retreat, a website will be launched that any of us can visit to keep track of the process and provide input. When the website is ready we will let you know.

As business owners and managers, you know the importance of having a strategic plan for success. Writing the plan is one thing; implementing it and revisiting it to make changes as the market changes is the really tough part. Over the years we have had a number of speakers at MCBA lunches that have touched on this subject.

Mill Creek Festival website gets a new look thanks to Xcarab and Thad Hoover

MillCreekFestival.com ScreenshotMCBA board member Thad Hoover has donated his companies time and talent to redesign the Mill Creek Festival website with a new fresh look. Menu changes coming soon to Blazing Onion

In an effort to keep their menu fresh, Blazing Onion has announced they will be making some changes in late May. For those of you who fell in love with their Grilled Chicken Avocado, rumor is this will be a permanent addition.

Two new services at

My Garden Nursery

In our never-ending quest to improve our customer service, My Garden Nursery is adding two new services:

1) Delivery service. Now customers can buy that large shrubbery or 10 bales of compost and have it all delivered to their doorstep.

2) Tool sharpening service. As part of every gardeners' spring clean-up, it is a good idea to get your pruners, shears, clippers, etc., sharpened.

Have extra space you would like to rent out?

Corban Cooper of Lorbaniah Cameography is looking for about 250 square feet of office space to set up a few

video editing workstations for a month-to-month contract. He asked the MCBA if we could get his request out to our members.
