MSR Introduces Dimension4™ Acoustical Tuning Systems
MSR has introduced a new line of
high-value acoustical tuning systems for home theater designers, installers,
and enthusiasts. Dimension4™ features three systems designed with an exclusive
combination of absorbers, diffusers, and bass traps for superior sound
performance and control. All three systems are pre-engineered to provide
optimum sound quality without any complex acoustical calculations. Unpack, set
it up, and share the experience!
Each Dimension4™ system includes
a set of modules designed to deliver a clearer, smoother and more immersive
audio experience. Dimension4™ absorber modules create a precise and realistic
soundfield. Cloud panels control the detrimental vertical ceiling reflections,
and diffusers enhance sonic immersion. Bass traps eliminate muddy room
resonances for a tighter and punchier bass. Dimension4™delivers full frequency
solutions which ensure improved accuracy, focus, envelopment, and tonal
balance. Each system offers a variety of configurations to accommodate all room
sizes.
The Symphony
system is the top-of-the-line solution for uncompromising quality. The Sonata
system is a mid-range solution for high quality performance, especially suited
for rooms with stretched fabric. The Melody system is an entry-level
solution for the budget-conscious client. For more information, visit MSR's website to download spec sheets. |

Intensive Home Theater Acoustics Wednesday, September 22 @ 8:00
am - 6:00 pm (room B216) This full-day
workshop is the most comprehensive home theater acoustics course in the
industry. It will cover the basic theory and carry through to the full acoustic
design process. Attendees will receive the 5.1 Audio Toolkit test and
calibration DVD, and an advance copy of the book on home theater audio
calibration written by Anthony. Read more at CEDIA Expo online.
Advanced Home Theater Design Lab Thursday, September 23 @ 1:00
- 5:00 pm (room B302) This course provides
info about room layout and dimensioning, including placement of seats, audio
and video equipment selection, positioning of equipment (screen, loudspeakers,
subwoofers) and acoustical treatments. Participants are expected to already
have substantial requisite knowledge of home theater design. Read more at CEDIA Expo online.
Home Theater Acoustical Treatments Friday, September 24 @ 1:00 -
4:00 pm (room B301) Attendees will

AV Spaces
Each month, we'll profile a
professional space to show the diversity and flexibility of MSR products and
technologies for a range of applications.
This month we're talking to Fred Coury, head of Double Forte Music, and best known as the drummer of the rock bandCinderella.
Fred was looking to tighten the imaging and bass response in his control room,
and to accomplish this, we recommended our ZSound modules.
According to Fred, "What MSR
does is AMAZING. The team really knows that they're doing and they don't leave
until it is done right. They turned my modest project room into a competitive
studio. When they do a studio, you KNOW what your room sounds like. That kind of
certainty allows you to process jobs with incredible efficiency, accuracy and
speed."
For more photos of Fred's studio,
and other recording studio profiles, please visit our website. Also check out
some of our quick tips on our AV Spaces page on Twitter.

MSR Upgrades Media Facilities at Marin Youth Center
In February 2010, MSR contributed product and expertise to
outfit the Marin Youth Center's (MYC) media facility. Located in San Rafael,
California, the mission of MYC is to provide and inspiring space that supports
the development of young people's talents, potential, and leadership skills
through the arts, technology, and community service.
With sophisticated media facilities such as HD video
production and editing, MHC only had basic rooms, with low-end acoustic foam
sheets, which resulted in poor sound quality the young artists were getting from
their recording projects. MSR lent a helping hand with engineering services and
product solutions. The teens even got to work on this project by helping to
make some of the acoustic absorber units, and assisting with the installation
process. The rooms now sound great and look clean and professional, and the
kids feel increased ownership of the facilities. "MSR contributed above and beyond to make this happen,
teaching our kids about acoustics, fabrication and installation processes. Our
members are happy with the results and are eager to use the studios,"
commented Katherine Monahan, MYC Studio Coordinator. "It was a pleasure and privilege to work with the staff
and members at MYC. They were sharp, enthusiastic, and care so much about the
music; it was very refreshing!" said Anthony Grimani, MSR president. |
