Dear Family, Friends and Partners,
Greetings! Can you believe it's fall? There has been so much going on at the prayer house. If you have not been to the Refuge in a while we would love to see you.
It has been a while since you have heard from us in a general newsletter, other than receiving event invitations. We have had lots of activities going on at the prayer house and we have been having lots of fun! We hope to catch you up as much as possible with this newsletter.
Two things we want to share right here in the beginning of this letter is that in the last week alone we have had two women healed supernaturally. One was healed of 20+ years of pain from Fibromyalgia and the other woman was also healed from chronic pain from which she has been suffering for many years as well.
That is just a little of what has been happening at the Refuge. We are seeing healing on a weekly basis in addition to other happening here at the HOP.
Please refer to our general Refuge Calendar and our RSSM Calendar for details and updates regarding schedules and events.
Thank you for your continued love and devotion to the Refuge!

Ted and Toni Imsen, Senior Leaders at Refuge House of Prayer will be featured in an episode being recorded for Hosannah Broadcasting Network. It is an outside event being recorded at a local coffee house called It's A Grind. All are welcome to come and participate. See you then!
Prayer Room Hours
There has been a change in the prayer house hours that we feel it is important to mention. In recent months we have noticed a decline in attendance of our corporate prayer meetings. In noticing this, we took it to the Lord in prayer and inquired of Him on the matter. What we feel He is asking of us is that we close down our Friday and Sunday evenings for a time of resting and regrouping.
We believe what He is doing during this time of resting and regrouping is having us focus on family and community in a different way and from a place of rest. This is a time of focus on family, friends, food, fun and fellowship. If this sounds like something you would be interested in being a part of, please contact us for more information.
Have we abandoned our corporate prayer meetings? NO. We will still be having monthly evenings of Prayer & Worship Celebration, special worship leaders, flags, shofars and the like, family style. We will be announcing a schedule for these events soon.
Janet Hyun Many of you have been in the HOP in the last few months and have inquired about the paintings in the Refuge. Many of them are works in progress being painted during the daytime hours by Janet Hyun, a very talented, spirit filled artist.
Janet has a heart to equip this generation to paint. She has expressed an interest in offering a painting class here at the Refuge. We would like to get some feedback from those who would be interested in attending such a course. If there is enough interest, we will host one. Please contact us and let us know if you are interested in attending. Thank you.
For more information about Janet Hyun, please visit her website by clicking on Janet's painting below.
It Has Come to Our Attention
In recent times, we have discovered that many are under the impression that we at Refuge are financially supported and our expenses are paid for by a local church and or a local church network. Although there are one or two local churches that give to us monthly on a monthly basis, we are not a ministry of any local church and are not supported financially by any network of churches.
Refuge is completely financially independent and raises its own funds through donations by individuals, those who believe in the vision, those we touch and ministry partners. We are also bringing in finances through our school of ministry, training and equipping events, hosting special guests and books, CD and DVD sales. We are continually making an effort to find ways to keep the prayer house open and expanding financially in creative ways.
For a more complete picture of Refuge fund raising, please read below under Refuge Finances. Thank you very much for all your support of Refuge HOP.

The Refuge Finances
We feel it is important to share with you what is happening with Refuge financially. God has really blessed us financially in that He has provided for the basic needs of the prayer house. When we say basic needs, we mean our building lease, insurance, utilities, basic operating expenses, such as office supplies, copier, etc. Our basic operating costs to run the HOP is approximately $6,000 monthly, which does NOT include salaries.
Ted and Toni have not been taking salaries on a regular basis. Unfortunately, Refuge is not able to provide for salaries yet. In the meanwhile, Toni is working in the HOP full-time and Ted is working both inside and outside the Refuge to make a living. We are hoping this will change soon as we build a strong financial base.
You have so generously provided for us in the past and we are thankful for those who are continuing to provide for the prayer house. The impact of Refuge House of Prayer is tremendous and has been growing steadily.
The bottom line is, we need your help. We are not a church, so we do not have the benefit of receiving tithes, we rely only upon free-will offerings. We understand that we are living in tough financial times, but we also know that God's heart is moved through faith and risk taking. Can you catch a glimpse of what God is doing in and through the Refuge? Can you capture the vision for our region and beyond and partner with us financially? Below is a simple outline of the Refuge Vision and the things we are doing to maintain the vision.
Refuge Vision
If you are a regular giver, thank you very much, we ask that your prayerfully consider an increase in your giving. If you have not given in a while, we ask that you resume your giving and prayerfully consider the amount. If you have not given to Refuge in the past, but have been blessed and impacted by Refuge, we ask that you prayerfully consider supporting us for the purpose of expanding the Kingdom of God and to the preaching of the Gospel. Any amount, whether given monthly, one-time or annually is wonderful. However, a monthly amount helps us to create a stable monthly budget for the HOP. Donations are tax-deductible.
There are many ways to donate. We accept cash, checks, & credit cards. You may also donate online through PayPal at the following link:

This class is for the purpose of building healing teams for the Refuge healing teams and helping others launch their teams. There is NO FEE for this class, however, offerings will be taken each evening to cover HOP operating costs.
It appears that Tuesdays seem to be the day that the majority of you are available for the follow-up training. So we are scheduled to begin on Tuesdays October 25, 2011 - December 6, 2011. There will be no classes the week of Thanksgiving. We apologize to those of you who were not available on Tuesdays. Refuge Supernatural School of Ministry
|
IMPACT School of Ministry is now known as Refuge Supernatural School of Ministry
Refuge has changed the name of our school from IMPACT School of Ministry to Refuge Supernatural School of Ministry to better define who we are. In September 2009, IMPACT was first conceived and the planning process began for the estimated launch at Refuge in January 2010. IMPACT was a separate ministry from the Refuge at that time. In January 2010 when the transition of leadership took place at the Refuge, we continued with the launch date and kept the name IMPACT.
In recent times we made the decision to align the name of the school of ministry with Refuge for easier recognition of affiliation. The name supernatural was added because we teach from a supernatural perspective, that distinguishes us from other schools of ministry. We want you to know that up front, so that there is no miscommunication, we teach from the perspective that we are naturally supernatural beings and we teach and train with that reality in mind.

Illuminate: Launching Prophetic Appointments NOVEMBER 3, 2011
The Greek word for illuminate is phótizó (fotid'zo) It means to shine, give light, bring to light, light up, illumine, make evident, reveal. We believe God wants to illuminate lives and destinies through the prophetic. We believe it is necessary to build a culture and a community for a healthy prophetic ministry to thrive.
We have been offering this ongoing training since August 11, 2011. We will be launching prophetic appointments open to the public beginning Thursday, November 3, 2011. If you are interested in learning more about the prophetic and serving the community through prophetic appointments, please contact us. You are welcome to come and receive a prophetic word, Thursday evenings at 7pm, bring your family, friends, groups or anybody else you want. Get ready to be illuminated! There is no charge for prophetic appointments, however we do receive donations in order to cover HOP operating costs.
