GO 'N GROOVE NEWSLETTER
MAY/JUNE
2010
Spinning Divas Group
Greetings!

I recently received an online newsletter and it got me thinking, " I can do that with my Go 'n Groove notes." So here is my debut issue . I would love your feedback! I plan on doing it six times a year and I will only send out "Notes" if there is something that needs to get you to you (i.e., deadlines). In addition, I'd appreciate your input for future newsletters: BUZZ ABOUT WOMEN'S BIZZ? A movie, show, music or book for WHAT'S HOT IN THE ARTS? Tell me about YOUR BEST FRIEND! A TESTIMONIAL about one of Go 'n Groove's past trips? An idea for a FEATURED HOTEL OR RESTAURANT? Any information will be welcome and in the meantime, hop you are enjoying spring where ever you are! xxoo K-

FROLIC IN MIAMI
Frolic

Many women were interested in the FASHION*FOOD*FROLIC, Experience Miami trip I put together for this past March, but several said it was too expensive and too inclusive of events. So I'm putting together another trip, but this time with three nights (Th., Fri. & Sat.) with an option to arrive on Wednesday.

Our first group event will be the Sunset Cruise that Thursday. The "Fashion Talk" by Meghan Mundy on Friday morning along with the visit to the museum and luncheon on Friday mid day will be optional choices. Visits to the Bal Harbour and Dolphin Malls with Meghan will also be available and optional. On Saturday, we'll offer an optional bike ride along Key Biscayne as well as a cooking class in Coral Gables. That night we'll stop by Romero Britto's gallery on Lincoln Ave. (optional) and meet for a group dinner.

These changes will save 1) on one nights stay and 2) you'll be paying for less events that were part of the package. They will now be available to you as options. So depending on your budget and your interests, I am hoping this trip will be more appealing.

WHAT'S HOT IN THE ARTS
The Movies? Broadway? Music? Books?
spring awakening

BROADWAY: Grace, and I recently saw SPRING AWAKENING on its tour though Miami. Winner of 8 Tony Awards in 2007, it is a story that takes its inspiration from literature's most controversial masterpieces ~ a work so daring in its depiction of teenage self discovery, it was banned from the stage and not performed in its complete form in English for nearly 100 years. Set to rock music, this show was terrific, but not for young ones. Rated R.

MOVIES: Well I don't have to tell any of you that SEX IN THE CITY 2 is coming out next week! Where and with whom did you see it?? Did you enjoy cocktails before or after? Let me know of your SATC2 adventures so I can report them in the next newsletter. I will see it with my daughter, Grace, and sister, Katie.

BUZZ ABOUT WOMEN IN BIZ
Mary Murphy
h4b

What does a busy mom do while on maternity leave from her teaching job? Start a business, of course!

Mary Murphy is the President and Chief Creator of the phenomenally successful Hooray for BooksŪ enrichment centers. Mary, a graduate of Boston College with degrees in Early Childhood Education and Child Psychology, taught kindergarten in Newton, MA for 12 years. During that time, as she was "growing" her own family, she began to search for quality programs for preschoolers. Finding few options, she launched her own business to fill a community need as well as a personal one. Mary found the right formula, which includes solid educational content as well as amazingly creative and engaging lesson plans. Her secret ingredient? Captivating kids by cooking with them, a universally loved activity (well, at least with the kids!)

By combining her two passions, education and cooking, Mary, now a proud mother of five, offers an unbeatable recipe for satisfying the desire to learn as well as titillating the taste buds of her young students. She may have a lot on her plate just like you do, but she goes to work every day knowing she has found her calling, instilling in children the love of snuggling up with a good book! If you want to add a helping of HFB to your plate, franchising opportunities are now available across the United States.

HOORAY FOR BOOKS
LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY BEST FRIEND!
Katie Ansbro by Karen Ansbro Leone
K & K

I'm guessing it won't come to anyone's surprise that my twin sister, Katie Ansbro, is mine! Together for 49 (& 7 1/2 months in the womb) this Tuesday, May 25.

Although Katie & I have not lived together, or even in the same state since we were 17, we have remained not just sisters (that would be hard to change), but best of friends. As different as our lives are, we continue to always be there for each other. People often ask me, "What's it like to be a twin?" My answer, "What's it like not being one??" I can't imagine not having Katie as a twin sister or friend as she helps define who I am. Katie gave me a plaque this past Christmas, "Chances made us sisters, hearts made us friends". I think that says it all.

Thanks Katie for always being there and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It was a great trip and I can't wait to see what you put together for the next Spinning Divas tour!!! The canal idea sounded like a fun and interesting one. I also enjoyed meeting all the other ladies! The trip was one of the best - many great memories - the inns were fabulous - all three. I especially liked the William Henry Miller Inn - what a great place. I would have like to have stayed and "lounged" in any one of the three for longer. Favorite eats - Sheldrake Point and the Tapas restaurant in Ithaca - probably will go back to both at some point.

The little extras you provided were so well thought out - loved the direction cards and the water bottle. Amy was terrific - hope to connect with her and the bike group sometime. All in all it was a fabulous, very affordable, luxurious way to go on an exhilarating bike ride! Karen - you do such a wonderful job of putting it all together -I could go on and on.

Bravo!
