Register for 2011 Sloan Award for Workplace Flexibility

Flex Works friends and associates,

Registration is now open for the 2011 Sloan Awards for Workplace Flexibility. We recommend that all flexible workplaces register for this event. It brings together a great community of organizations, employers, employees, and builds prestige and recognition for flexible workplace practices.

The timeline for the Houston-area Sloan application and award is the following:

February 2 - March 18: Round I, Applications open to employers.

March 25: Preliminary results will be available.

March 28 - May 6: Round II, Employee survey for qualifying applicants.

May 13: Final results will be announced by When Work Works.

Each year we turn out dozens of winners, and we celebrate the great local business culture with a luncheon and award ceremony. If you Sloan Award veteran, please share this information with other colleagues and assocates. If you are new to Sloan, we'd like to answer any questions you may have about the competition and registration.

WhenWorkWorks

The Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workpalce Flexibility is a national award and the winners receive national recognition. Funding comes from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. When Work Works and the Families and Work Institute are responsible for administering the competion at the natoinal level. Across the country organizations like ours, civic associations and city governments coordinate the local program details.

	Highlights from the 2010 Awards
Last year was one of our best for getting Houston-area flexible workplace employers registered. In the end, we had 21 local business winners. Pictures from the 2010 Sloan Award Ceremony and Luncheon will be on the FlexWorks website soon. It was a great time!
