Panel Discussion -
"The Future of Workplace Flexibility"
This year we have added an exciting panel discussion to discuss the future of workplace flexibility and the various perspectives of flexibility from a holistic approach. Admission to the panel is included with the ticket purchase to attend the luncheon ceremony. This discussion will also be a live webcast available to other cities and states across the nation.
The panel participants will speak on topics of workplace flexibility, such as policy development, technology, wellness, and implementation and future impacts of flexibility.
Our featured moderator and panelists include:
Patricia Kempthorne, Twiga Foundation, Founder/President will moderate this wonderful discussion.
Veronica Baxter-Lamb, Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), Transportation Programs - will discuss "Transportation" as it relates to workplace flexibility.
Latifa Lyles, Department of Labor, Women's Bureau, Deputy Director - will discuss "Policy Implementation" and what the Department of Labor is developing in conjunction with the White House.
Brint Ryan, CEO, Founder, and Managing Principal of Ryan, Inc "Innovative Solutions To Taxing Problems" - will discuss workplace flexibility from the CEO and employer perspective.
Dr. Kenneth Wells, Alken Health Resources, President - will discuss wellness as it relates to workplace flexibility.
Victor Grinshtein, Xvand Technology, President - will discuss technology as it relates to workplace flexibility.

Each year multiple Houston-area businesses win the coveted Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility. Using a scoring methodology that includes employees' views as well as employer practices in its scoring, the Sloan Awards honor organizations and worksites that are using workplace flexibility as a strategy to increase workplace effectiveness and yield positive business results, and to help employees succeed at work and at home. Winners are included in a full page ad in USA Today. There are many contributing parties to this event, including the Sloan Foundation, the Twiga Foundation, The Families and Work Institute, and When Work Works. Applicants come from more than 30 states.
The local award honors all applicants but gives special recognition to the winners of the award. Each year the award ceremony is held in the fall, honoring participants and awarding winners.

The Flexible Workplace Initiative Program - Flexworks, encourages area employers to utilize flexible workplace policies that promote business activity and improve Houston's mobility.
Houston is already one of the nation's leading cities in flexible workplace initiatives, but in order to improve air quality and mobility in the greater Houston area, the Flexible Workplace Initiative Program works directly with employers and organizes several annual events. |
