| FOODChewies Steam and Oyster Bar
I have seen several restaurants come and go in this location @ Yew and 1st Ave. in Kits but with the most recent changes and upgrades to other locations on Yew street I believe this one will last! Recently, my friend and I had the opportunity to visit Chewies and sat at the bar directly in front of the oyster shucker. Right away we ordered a bottle of Pinot Grigio and a dozen oysters (a variety pack). All were delicious and most of all the house made hot sauces kept us wanting more! For mains we shared the southern style fried chicken, a 2 day marinated buttermilk fried chicken with Cajun honey butter drizzle, mash & beans for $17 as well as the BBQ shrimp and grits with New Orleans style beer & rosemary BBQ sauce for $15. The parmesan cheese grits are to die for, I could of ordered more. If you are looking for casual dining with great food and a vibrant atmosphere you cannot go wrong here. I will be back soon as there is much more I want to try at this Louisianan style eaterie.

WINE Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc
One of my favourite summer wines is a Sauvignon Blanc and Kim Crawford is one of the best available.
Always good on any patio, this is just what you expect in a snappy, vibrant Marlborough Sauvignon. Always solid, this vintage does not disappoint - verdant grassy/herbal notes, passion fruit and gooseberry aromas translate to a tangy, mouth-watering wine with a persistent finish and plenty of guava and passion fruit flavours. It pairs well with cheese plates, fish and light sauce dishes and most of all tastes great on a hot summer day!
