What was I thinking?

Dear Bnai Keshet,

What was I thinking when I agreed to be BK's honoree for the annual Roabst?  Now, as the big night approaches, I am just thrilled that so many of you have already signed up to come and participate in what I know (oy!) will be an evening full of laughs!

Like so many of BK's social gatherings, the Roabst is a perfect occasion for us to enjoy each other's company, eat great food, schmooze, and feel a real part of our community.  It is in this spirit that I want to take this opportunity, not only as your honoree, but specifically because I am your Rabbi, to extend a warm invitation to everyone who would like to come.

Please know that if the cost of admission is, for any reason a burden or might cause you to hesitate to join me that you should not worry about the suggested donation.  If you can make a donation, please do, if not.... Just come! I only ask that you let Nadia know if you are attending.

Every member in this congregation is important to me and I know I speak not only for myself, but for all the professional and lay leadership, when I say we want your company next Saturday Night, January 28th, when I get roabsted!

With an open heart, in good humor (and only a little trepidation),

Rabbi Elliott
