Hi Again,
|
March is National Nutrition Month. The perfect time to think about eating well. And Spring is just around the corner (March 21st). It's time to lighten up a bit. Not only are we changing our wardrobe, we should be changing our diet. I have lots of tips to help you get a healthy start to the season. Be sure to check my Facebook Page for frequent tips. There is something for everyone. So no matter if you're a working gal, a new mom or are trying to get your toddler to eat, I'll have advice for you. Here's to a healthy Spring! |
| Lighten Up! |
As the seasons change we change the way we dress. We should also change the way we eat. In winter we want (and need) heavier foods like soups, stews and root vegetables. These foods are calorie dense and warming. In Spring our diets become lighter. If you pass by a farmers market you will notice that the produce changes with the season. The growing season starts with greens. These are light, nutritious and detoxifying.Spring greens help tonify the liver which makes getting rid of toxins easier. Having less of a toxic load will make you feel lighter and give you more energy. Some foods you should include in your Spring diet are: artichokes, arugula, watercress, asparagus, dandelion greens, spinach and parsley. Try a new recipe. Experiment and have fun. Who said don't play with your food! |
