Babies Need Massage Too
Whenever I give a baby massage workshop I always ask the Moms if they have been massaging their babies. The response is usually, "Well, sort of but not really". This is because most Moms believe that baby massage is not really massage unless it follows a specific protocol. Let me set the record straight. Baby massage is all about touch. If you do this in a systematic way or not doesn't really matter. The important thing is to touch, hold and caress your baby. I have been asked if it is bad to hold and touch your baby too much. Impossible! Babies thrive on love. They need to be fed, kept warm and dry and be loved. The idea that you can spoil your baby by holding him too much is completely false. Toddlers can be spoiled but not babies. Besides, babies who are not touched don't thrive. That's a scary thought. Pick you baby up and caress her. If you want to learn how to massage your baby in specific situation you can take a baby massage class or buy my Baby Massage DVD. But no matter what you do, give your baby a massage. It is after all the gift of love!
