'Tis the Season to be Stressful???
It's November. From now until the end of the year time is going to pass at warp speed. Suddenly our to-do lists will get very long and very urgent. There is shopping to do, travel arrangement to be made, food to prepare, parties to plan, cards to write, ornaments to hang and guests arriving! I'm sure I missed something but you get the idea. What this all adds up to is STRESS! Holidays should be fun not stressful. So here's what I propose: Take care of yourself. Make sure to take time out of your busy schedule and plan time just for you. It doesn't have to be a lot of time. Maybe take a walk in the park. Or relax at the end of the day in a nice hot bath. Add 1 cup of Epsom salts, 1/2 cup of baking soda and a few drops of lavender for a really special soak. When things become overwhelming sit down and breathe. Don't forget to eat! You'll need energy for all that activity. Carry healthy snacks like fruit and nuts with you. Plan what needs to be done and delegate some things. Take a personal day to run errands. Stores are never as crowded during the day as they are on the weekends. Get a massage! I guarantee that your stress will melt away. And don't forget to laugh. Very few things are so serious that we can't find some humor in them. This year try enjoying the season and leaving the stress behind.
