                    Thanks, Danke, Gracie, Merci

This is a good month to sit down and remember what I have to be thankful for. Making a thank you  list  makes me smile. It can be easy to go to the dark side and get all negative but that's really unhealthy. Seriously! I'd like to share my short list with you.

A big thanks to my clients. I love my job because of you. I know that working with you, either through massage or nutrition is very intimate and requires trust on your part. Thanks for choosing me to work with you. To all my prenatal and postpartum clients - thanks for letting me be part of your birthing process. What a wonderful way for me to experience the great mystery! Thanks to all who have referred friends and family. That is such a vote of confidence. Thanks to my friends and family for ignoring my bad side and always being there for me.

Thanks to the people I don't know who smile at me on the street for no apparent reason just when I could use a smile. Thanks to the young lady (whoever you are) for sharing your umbrella with me one rainy afternoon. And thanks to all the guys who give up their seats on the train for those who really needs it.

What's on your list? Bet you can't make one up without smiling!           Happy Thanksgiving ~ Laura

'Tis the Season to be Stressful???

It's November. From now until the end of the year time is going to pass at warp speed. Suddenly our to-do lists will get very long and very urgent. There is shopping to do, travel arrangement to be made, food to prepare, parties to plan, cards to write, ornaments to hang and guests arriving! I'm sure I missed something but you get the idea. What this all adds up to is STRESS! Holidays should be fun not stressful. So here's what I propose:
Take care of yourself. Make sure to take time out of your busy schedule and plan time just for you. It doesn't have to be a lot of time.
Maybe take a walk in the park.
Or relax at the end of the day in a nice hot bath. Add 1 cup of Epsom salts, 1/2 cup of baking soda and a few drops of lavender for a really special soak.
When things become overwhelming sit down and breathe.
Don't forget to eat! You'll need energy for all that activity. Carry healthy snacks like fruit and nuts with you.
Plan what needs to be done and delegate some things.
Take a personal day to run errands. Stores are never as crowded during the day as they are on the weekends.
Get a massage! I guarantee that your stress will melt away.
And don't forget to laugh. Very few things are so serious that we can't find some humor in them.
This year try enjoying the season and leaving the stress behind.
