This week's MESSAGE: ASC logo
Controlling Your Thoughts

"For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

                                                                        -- II Corinthians 10:3-5

100-day 2012GROW Spiritually

100-day Challenge

Controlling Our Mouths

This week we have been studying scripture that pertains to the tongue, which we all know is powerful in its ability to do good or evil. Being negative with our words and tone becomes a lifestyle habit. It does no one any good. We don't feel better, and we bore or antagonize our listeners. When we make time for God in prayer and worship, our attitudes change radically; when we make the conscious effort to speak kindly and positively, it affects all our relationships for good -- and becomes a good habit! Don't wait a lifetime to put into practice speaking positive words, bringing blessings to others.

If you have a testimony you'd like to share with us, e-mail the church office or use the linked sheet. Beginning this Sunday, we will spend the week taking control of our thoughts. If you don't have a copy of the 100-Day Challenge, you can access the week-by-week study online.

AWANASERVE to His Glory

Prayer for our Kids

Please keep our AWANA kids and leaders in your prayers as they participate this Saturday in the AWANA Games.

refuge logoAnd remember in prayer our 29 Refuge students and their seven leaders who will be attending Winter Camp at Lake Tahoe this weekend, February 24-26. They will be learning to be "audacious" in their faith through worship, fellowship, and small groups. There will also be plenty of games, snow play, and music as part of this year's cabin getaway. Amen!

VBS 2012

Adventures on Promise Island

We are getting ready for our Summer VBS program with an introductory meeting for those who are interested in serving. A brief meeting will preview videos and job descriptions. Please join us after the second service in Room 4 this Sunday, February 26. The gathering will be about 45 minutes, and no lunch or child care is provided.

The week of VBS is July 16 to 20. Mark your calendars! The kids enjoy an exciting week of learning about God's promises, singing, playing games, making crafts, and snacking. Encourage them to invite friends to share in the fun. More details will be coming soon!
