Making Room for God

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God."

                                                                 -- Colossians 3:16

News from South Africa

Keith and Desyré MacMillan, who recently spoke at our church, have safely arrived in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Through Campus Crusade, the MacMillans will be spending a year in Africa in full-time ministry. This week has been orientation in Cape Town. Soon, classes will begin at Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, where the MacMillans will focus much of their time to share the Gospel, build up the faith of new believers, and equip South Africans to spread the message of Jesus's saving grace.

Read the most recent prayer letter and check out the MacMillan Ministry website for more information -- and please be praying for their team of seven as everyone quickly seeks to adapt to a new culture.

The Gift of Relationships

Family and friends are two of God's best gifts to us, but these connections often come under attack. Let's give our relationships to the Lord's keeping. Please pray for the salvation and needs of parents, children, spouses, in-laws, and friends. Let those you care about know how much they mean to you. Offer encouragement through e-mails, cards, phone calls, and even Facebook. And don't forget to reach out to those who might need a special touch or positive word -- to remind them that God is with them.

100-day 2012GROW Spiritually

This Week: Praising God

This week's theme is "Praising God" as we continue in our 100-Day Challenge of becoming who we were meant to be. As we are following along in this daily study, we trust that God is bringing insights and growth in our daily walk with Him.

Praising God touches so many areas of our lives. One aspect is recognizing more of the little blessings that He gives us every day, and thanking Him! Praise God for his promise that in Christ we already have victory, so live a life that strives to please Him -- and look forward, not backward. Jesus already paid the price for our sins, and nothing can take that away (Romans 8:35-37).

If you have a testimony you'd like to share, e-mail the church office or use the linked sheet. Beginning this Sunday, we will spend the week practicing daily discipline to make room for God. If you don't have a copy of the 100-Day Challenge, you can access the week-by-week study online.

WildsideSERVE to His Glory

Pray for Our Kids

Our middle school students are heading off to WINTER CAMP this Friday, February 3, and we want to keep each and every one of them in our prayers. The camp theme is "Move," and through worship, fellowship, and awesome teaching our middle schoolers will find encouragement to take action for God. We have 17 students, four adult leaders, and a worship team going from Antelope Springs, and they will be gathering with youths from a couple of other churches at Camp Chinquapin in Pinecrest for a full weekend of indoor and outdoor fun. Please pray for safety, joyful connections, and hearts that are open to God's calling.
