REACH the World for Jesus
AWANA Recharge
AWANA has the second half of the year to go, and there's so much to learn! Are your children involved in AWANA on Wednesday nights? Different clubs are available for ages 3 through 6th grade, also for junior high (Trek) and high school (Journey). Registration is available every week at the door, and the registration fee will be pro-rated for the half-year, so it's easy to get started. The Wednesday program is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. (Trek and Journey start at 6 p.m.). Get started now and join the fun, growing together in Christ-likeness, team-building, games, memorizing God's Word, and so much more. If you have questions, contact Gene Dias.

CONNECT to God's Family
Our First Week
We have just begun our 100-Day Challenge, "Becoming Who You Were Meant to Be." We encourage you to stay involved in the daily readings and spend time with God each day. If you are feeling like this will be too much or you're not sure God's going to do anything, be strong and wait on God! Be confident that He does want to speak to you through these readings and His Word. He has a plan for you. This week's challenge is to prepare yourself ... a week of daily prayer.
From Jill Gottier: I recalled my own story as I read Wednesday's verses, Psalm 27:13-14: "I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart, and wait for the Lord."
It was years ago, and I was waiting for a baby ... praying, pleading, getting angry with God. After seven years of marriage, I cried at an unexpected infant dedication. Our pastor at the time called my husband, Dennis, that afternoon to find out the reason, and he told of our plight. Months later the pastor's wife suggested to a young woman expecting twins that she give one to us (unbeknownst to us!). This woman's husband had left her, not wanting children. She was shocked and angry at the suggestion and told her best friend, who thought of her own sister-in-law who was giving up a baby for adoption. Within 24 hours it was joyfully agreed that we would adopt the sister-in-law's child. Our daughter was born January 12, 1979, and taking her home was the happiest day of our lives. Please note God's wonderful timing:
- Suzanne was born nine months after that infant dedication, when I had poured my heart out to God, similar to Hannah in the Old Testament.
- Dennis's father passed away the same evening we met Suzanne's birth mother. Days later, his mother was greatly encouraged with news of a grandchild on the way, and she and Suzanne were always very close.
As you experience insight and blessing during this 100-day journey, please write it down and share with us so we can encourage each other! Send to Jill Gottier, Becky Easter, or Pastor Frank.
