Bible

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

                                                      -- Matthew 28:19-20

Reminder

This weekend is Family Camp, so there will be only one morning service on Sunday, August 28, at 10 a.m. CrossRoads, our evening service, will be at 6 p.m.; we will be having dinner, so please join us and bring a dish to share -- our theme is fast food.

If you want to be baptized in Lake Francis during Family Camp, you're welcome to come up Sunday even if you're not planning to stay over and camp. Send an e-mail to Pastor Frank and click here to see the camp flyer.

AWANA Clubs Begin Again

Did you know that there are 16,000 AWANA clubs in 110 countries? This vital ministry program reaches children from preschool through high school with the gospel of Jesus Christ and teaches them to serve Him. Registration is on September 7, 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the church. Our clubs begin on September 14.

A number of volunteers are needed in all areas. Prayerfully consider how God can use you in this ministry; training is available, and you can contact Gene Dias for more information.

CONNECT to God's Family

 "Encouragement Roundup"

Our next Mug & Muffin women's event will "roundup" a group of ASC ladies with uplifting stories to share how God is working in their lives and ministries. It's a western theme, so wear your jeans and cowboy hat or dress casually! This special time of fellowship includes a light brunch, singing and getting to know each other. Bring a friend and your favorite coffee mug, and you will be blessed. Come see us on Saturday, September 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. Contact Loretta Masters for more information.

Looking for a Men's Study?

Starting September 12, the Monday evening Men's Study Group will start Colossians, our third book in the Prison Epistles -- the books written by Paul when he was in jail. The men are finding God's presence through His Word, growing in our faith and learning to handle life as a Christian should. This is a great time to begin coming to our small group, which meets at the church at 6:30 p.m every week. If you have questions, please contact Kevin LaCoursiere by e-mail or call (530) 308-6407.

Plan Ahead for Trunk & Treat

Volunteers are needed to host decorated cars or trucks for this year's Trunk & Treat, a community outreach set for October 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. We will be having a barbecue, games with candy prizes for the kids, live music, hay rides, a jump house, a large slide, an obstacle course, and even a crazy bungee run. To reach hearts as well as bellies, the children will receive special Bible verse cards as they go to the various stations.

If you can't host a decorated car activity, we have plenty of other ways you can serve. We need lots of donations plus assistance with food prep, setup/teardown, and more. Visit our information table located at the entrance of the church or contact Lovina Kirkpatrick for more information.
