A WORD FROM GOD
 
"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' Dear church family, you will notice that I am using the same passage of scripture as I used last week. No, it isn't because I am too lazy to look up a different word from God but because this one carries so much of a message from Him. There will  be a time when our efforts on this earth are assessed and rewards handed out. I think the way we express God's love to others is key in how God looks at each of us individually. Our help of and concern for others really tells how much God means to us. The more 'selfless' I become the more Christ like I become. As I consider our church family and the acts of selflessness you are involved in I can only praise God for His mercy to us and for teaching us His Word so clearly. Thank you for taking His Word seriously. By the way, we gave over $1300 last Sunday to help those in Haiti. The money has been sent to the NAB national headquarters and forwarded to our pastors on the frontline of the disaster zone. Again I can only praise God for your generosity in serving Him.

A Need for Praise:
  • Praise God for 9 people asking Jesus to be their savior last week. 
  • Praise God for changes to many lives in our church family as a result of the '100 Days of Jesus'.
  • Praise God for working in the marriages of our church family
  • Praise God for the blessing of giving to the work of the ministry of ASC.
A Need for Prayer:
 
  • Pray hard for the many people in our church family in need of employment. Pray for God's provisions in each of their families.
  • Pray for the marriages in our church. Those that are healthy need protection and those that are struggling need God's intervention to change husbands and wives.
  • Pray for 'The Impact of HIStory-100 Days of Jesus' devotional journey our church.
  • Pray for new ways we can show the love of Christ to our families, neighbors, friends and strangers.

If you have a testimony of what God is doing in your life as a result of the scriptures  in the '100 Days' devotional guide please e-mail them to the church or ffdelange@ sbcglobal.net. Maybe you would like to share them Sunday morning with the congregation.

Adult Ministries
  • Adult Bible class Sunday morning 10:45 am Studying Job. Class is being taught by Dave Worth.
  • Crossroads meets every Sunday @ 6:00 pm. 
  • Monday night Men's Bible study @ 6:30 pm. 
  • Monday night Women's Bible Study @ 6:30 pm
  • Men's retreat coming soon. Go to the church web site and get the details. Pray about it and set the time aside now
  • Women's Tea February 6, 10am - noon.  Sign up on Sunday to reserve your spot.

· AWANA Club meetings each Wednesday from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

Grand Prix Night is Feb 17th! Cars may be purchased during club nights, $5.00 each.

 

· New Parenting Class "Parenting the Early Years" by: Drs. Les and Leslie Parrott; during 2nd service. This is a 6 week DVD class, Danette Fadollone facilitating.

 

· Kidzone Movie Night Feb 5th 6:30pm-8:30pm.Showing "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" For ages 4 -12 we will be in room #2 on the floor, bring blanket and pillow. Popcorn and lemonade will be served. Parents are welcome!

· Kidzone Volunteer Certification class Feb 7th right after second service. Meet in Room #3. Lunch will be served. This is for all KidZone volunteers that have not been through the class.

· "Parent Link" and "Parenting Tips" Available to you through email.  Contact Lovina Kirkpatrick: KidZone@surewest.net to be added to the distribution list.

Wildside:
 
  • Winter Camp 2010- It's coming February 19-21. The cost is $150 with a $50 deposit required.  Spots are going fast so don't delay! More information available at Wildside.

  •  Pray for the more than 30 students and adult leaders at winter camp this weekend.  Pray for safety and for changed lives.
  • HELP HELP HELP. We are in serious need of adult help in 7-0-7 HS group. Please pray and then say yes as God directs your heart. We are ministering to a great group of young people who need to see how Christian adults live out their faith.
 
College Age Ministry
 
  • Lighthouse college age ministry meets Monday @ 7:00 pm at the church. This group is gaining momentum. Each week new faces are seen. Come out and enjoy good teaching, time of relaxing and getting to know other of the college age.
