"My highlights were an amazing Season of America's Got Talent where I employed over a hundred dancers...

A Brilliant Season of The X Factor in London where I employed over 25 dancers a week from all over the world for 10 weeks. Nicole Scherzinger's performance of Poison on The X Factor. A artistically inspiring season of The Pulse on Tour.

Finally reuniting with Britney Spears for her upcoming project this year."

World of Dance Awards  @ The Music Box

Hollywood, CA

January 14th, 2011

world
The World of Dance Awards was a pleasure. Numerous artists like Poreotics, Step Up 3D/ LXD director, Jon Chu, Stephen "Twitch" Boss and many more were acknowledged. Winners received a creative award designed in a glass boxed framed with a sneaker inside. It was truly a masterpiece. The night was a mixer to celebrate all the winners, which were announced on the big screen. There were several performances from Culture Shock LA, Mischief Makers, Jungle Jills and more. Paul Mitchell had also sponsored the event and supplied hair stylists right at the venue. You were literally able to sit in a salon chair and get your hair done. How cool is that? All in all. Great event! To learn more visit worldofdancetour.com

Welcome to Cho

@The King King

Hollywood, CA

January 11, 2011

Respected Choreographer, Chonique Sneed, stepped into her own and invited the industry to the "Cho". A night dedicated to debut Chonique as a recording artist. This woman has got skills. Do you remember the Taco Bell commercial back in 2009, when the woman rapped at the drive thru? That was Cho. Crazy right! Watch it now on youtube. Cho has been destined to be a star. She is just a natural performer and a mentor to hundreds of dancers in the community.  She performed a handful of her songs, which featured artists like Carmit Bachar, Lisette Bustamante, Andye Jamieson, The Blu Nyle and Fanny Pak. Combining dancers to the mix, not only made sense, but also truly showcased Chonique as a professional recording artist. Paulina Rubio dancer, Mikey Pesante, had a debut at the beginning of the evening as a soulful R&B singer. His captivating performance was choreographed by Todd Flanagan.

So you want to check out Cho's music? Her single "Snap Crackle Pop" is already on Itunes. The single titled,"Welcome to Cho" will be released February 11th, 2011. The much anticipated EP will premiere later this Spring. Until then visit Chonique's Youtube Channel. EVERY FRIDAY for the next 9 weeks she will premiere a performance from the show. That means you check out a new song each week. :)

What was the Best Part of 2010 for YOU?

Kyle Hanagami

"The best part of 2010 for me was finally feeling like I've found my path in life. I've been in LA for about a year now, and I've already achieved more than I ever dreamed I could. Most people would agree that moving to Los Angeles is kinda terrifying but I've met so many supportive and inspiring people in LA that I know I belong here. The feeling of big name choreographers coming up to me and complimenting my work is UNREAL. It makes me feel cool even though I'm really not. Whether or not I make it as a choreographer or a dancer isn't as important to me as feeling like I've impacted the dance scene here. I sure will have a hell of a 2011 trying to make sure that happens. It's all about remembering that the destination isn't the best part of life, the journey is."

The Dancers' Alliance

Meeting

Written By TIV Writer

As an up and coming dancer in the industry it was very important to me to attended the AFTRA/DA meeting.  I want to be more educated on my rights and what to expect while working on music videos, tour, industrials or etc.  It was great to see and hear from representatives from MSA, CTG, BLOC, and AFTRA at the panel.

Dancers Alliance started, because Soul Train was a union show that was solely about performers and dance decided to go non-union. This led to a collective amount of dancers and activists to come together to get proper working conditions and rates for dancers. Did you know at some point dancers were considered 'EXTRAS' in featured films and got paid $75 for 20 hours of work, oh and this included hazardous pay. What an insult to the dance artistry.

In the 80's the budget for a music video was 100,000. Due to today's economic weathering, we are lucky if we get $20,000 or $30,000. Thankfully we have DA, that is here to make sure we do get appropriate protection for these low budget productions.

The gap that is being bridged between agents and dancers is a necessary one in order to keep things moving forward with the type of working conditions and treatment we receive while working. My favorite question that was asked was: "Why is it important to have a job go through the agency?" When jobs are handled outside of your agents you are giving away the power. It easy for a producer or director to blindly promise you something and make sure it doesn't happen. So what we don't want to do is take the power away from our agents by working outside of them. On top of that a contract was signed that through you agency states you are represented and in being so all jobs should go through them. I learned myself while listening to one of my agents speak that they really do have our best interest at heart and will fight to see that our rates reflect in the industry. If anything doesn't feel right while you are on a job, call your agent. It's what they are there for.

We need to continue to self educate ourselves about our rights as artists in the industry and stand as a community for what we know we deserve. Dancers are professionals, just like actors, models, singers, and etc. It's time we as a community start living by that term 'Professional' and stop taking gigs that degrade us.

Be sure to keep an eye for the next Dancer Alliance event and get involved. It's your future and your career! For more information please visit www.danceralliance.org Thank you Dana, the agents and everyone that is fighting for the change.

January Favorite

Carnival Choreographers Ball

The 12 Year Anniversary

Micheal Jackson's "This Is It" Choreographer, Travis Payne, received The 2011 Carnival Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Anniversary Carnival show on January 26th, 2010 @ Club Avalon in Hollywood, CA was out of this world. From beginning to end, the show never missed a beat. Carey Ysais once again manifested his creative imagination on stage. Poreotics, winners from Season 5's America's Best Dance Crew, blew the crowd away with their legendary unique moves from their winning season and even added a few hidden grooves in between. Coveted choreographer, Travis Payne, received The 2011 Carnival Lifetime Achievement Award. He is best known for his invigorating work for Micheal Jackson's "This is It" tour.  MSA choreographer, Stacy Walker, created a fabulous performance to honor Travis for his years of service with a mix full of numerous hits from The King of Pop. After the performance, The Lockers (2010 Lifetime Award Recipients) and Kenny Ortega, director of "This is It" tour announced Travis to the stage. The well kept bald headed man accepted his award from Carnival creator, Carey Ysais, with honor and was truly grateful for the continuous love and support the industry issued him.

The word for the night would be EFFORTLESS. Every single piece was just ease and flow. When you see dancers on stage and the choreography disappears, that is when you know you are in the presence of professionals. Every single piece was at that caliber. The LXD brought their Hulu.com series to the stage. The evil mastermind ticked away about his mischievous plans, while point dancers in hot pink tutu's, crumpers and numerous umbrellas surrounded him. Andre Fuentes did an amazing rendition to the classic 80's ballad "If I Ever Fall In Love" by Shai. 15 of some of the sexiest male dancers in Hollywood made the audience swoon with a brilliant performance filled with improvisation and Andre's visionary choreography. The smoothness behind these men in button collar suits was impeccable. Rhapsody created a trio of couples, where the men were the puppets. The biggest surprise of the night was that Rhapsody performed! It's been a while since we have seen her spread her talent as a dancer and she revealed a hot new short hairstyle to boot. Of course she owned the stage and killed it with her partner, Derrell Bullock. Matt Cady was a musicality genius. His cast captured every unexpected level, accent and lines that Matt had envisioned. The audience was left mesmerized and speechless. Team Roast came out and murdered a Missy Elliot mix to classic hits like "All N My Grill." J.R. Taylor pulled the audience into Alice in Wonderland with a tea party theme and explored costumes and a variety of funky styles. Galen Hooks proved less is more. She performed a duet with Damien "D-Moe" Gomez and the simplicity behind the idea of them arguing and getting dressed to go out was outstanding. The way they used their pauses was genuine, because they forced you to feel the emotion of their love story. Phlex took Nicki Minaj's "Roman's Revenge" and flaunted his incredible imagination with a science lab. The best moment was when 2 drag queens came out and "weerked" in red along with the rest of the cast.  Erica Sobol exposed her true identity once again with her work on stage to "Cosmic Love" by Florence & the Machine. This song is so powerful and Erica's breathtaking work always magnifies her song choices by ten. In Hollywood, it's hard to not loose yourself and Erica consistently remains loyal to who she is as a choreographer and a person. Her musicality and pedestrian movement is just compelling, but it's the team effort of her cast that always makes her work a success.  Dee Caspary produced 2 duets and the use of 2 black males and 2 white women was an interesting interracial contrast. So You Think You Can Dance dancers like, Channing Cooke and Brandon Bryant, were simply beautiful. I loved how the women were the strong technical dancers and the men added a manly hip hop version to the choreography. Leslie Scot came into 2011 as a risk taker. Her transitions, direction changes, use of contemporary movement and clean lines was truly impressive. You could tell that Leslie really challenged herself with this performance and she succeeded.  Robert Hoffman, the biggest joker of the industry, did his thing with his boys, Nick Wilson and Tony Bellissimo. Just when you thought you were safe from Robert's humor, he pulls his pants down at the end and shows his butt crack. (He's Crazy) But I admire his confidence to never care what other people think.  Every act was fabulous. Poppin Pete & Lady Boogaloos, Sideswipe, Gregg Russell, Free feat Ocean 11 and Kelly Peters also gave incredible performances.

The night was truly inspirational. Normally The Industry Voice would issue a Carnival Top 5, but every once in a while it's impossible to just list 5, so this month we have a Top 10. The Industry Voice is a platform "Where Every Artist Can Be Heard." My team and I strive to return to basics and remind everyone to love dance for what it is, ART. It's not about who is in it or who created it. It's the pieces that touched us as viewers and stays in our minds and hearts. That is what inspired The Industry Voice Carnival Top list.

Matt Cady, best known for his choreography from the popular ABDC crew, Fanny Pak, is a genius. Since Season 2 of ABDC, not only does Matt and his crew keep Fanny Pak strong, but he continues to step out and spread his individual voice. This performance left everyone in aww. I literally saw numerous people around me drop their mouths after this piece ended. The life, the lines, the transitions, the musicality, the cast, the movement and just the pure love of dance exploded on the stage. It might have been Matt's best work yet.

The CliffsNotes of Dancers' Alliance

d

Once Upon A Time......a professional dancer was asked: "What exactly is Dancers' Alliance?"

The dancer responded by saying

"I have no idea. I know they fight for dancers to receive the best rates with a gig. But that's all I know.

Does this tale sound familiar? It should, because 90% of dancers aren't educated on how important Dancers' Alliance is to our industry. I know I wasn't. Knowledge is power and it's time to become enlightened. I decided to take advantage of my network contacts and I got a hold of Co - Chair/ LXD member, Galen Hooks and board member, Dana Wilson. They graciously broke everything down with an interview and The Industry Voice is here to supply the "CLIFFSNOTES" version of Dancers' Alliance (DA). It's time to break it down, where anyone can understand and gain power over their competitors.

Google.com defines the word Union as "an organization of employees formed to bargain with the employer." Now read that definition again. Go ahead.

You got it? Ok! Now professional dancers have 3 unions at their disposal: EQUITY, AFTRA and SAG. Since The Industry Voice is LA based right now, and there isn't a lot of Broadway around here, we will focus on just AFTRA and SAG. These two unions handle the essence of the Hollywood dream. SAG (Screen Actors Guild) handles anything shot on film, aka movies, commercials and some scripted shows. AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) handles almost everything else. No movies, but hundreds of variety shows: So You Think You Can Dance and America's Best Dance Crew. Contestants generally don't even get paid, but those who dance for guest performers do. These artists have security, because they are guaranteed excellent rates, a health plan and even a future pension. Now everything else is a non- union job. Spot dates, industrials, tours, music videos and more.

"Non union jobs are a dream for producers because they are able to cut corners without facing any consequences."

 -Dana Wilson

Let's face it. Most of us are naive and we don't know we have rights. Especially all you dancers who are booking music videos from LA Casting with a top recording artist and were paid only $50 for 8 -10 hours. Do you realize that is less then minimum wage? But we suck it up, because J.Lo or Jay-Z would look great on our resume. No! No! No! We have to value our self worth. They want us for a reason. So they need to pay us for our services. This is where Dancers' Alliance comes in. Their mission is to educate dancers on their rights and inform us when laws and regulations have been passed or improved. Since the union can't fight for us, they will.

Dancers' Alliance is a non-union organization, which was created back in the 80's by a group of dancers who were tired of being disrespected, un-acknowledged or under valued with non-union jobs. Julie McDonald, creator of MSA, was a proud leader of this cause and dancers like Michael Higgins and Nathan Prevost, teamed up with her to switch the industry in our favor. Hence Dancers' Alliance was formed. They went straight to the source, the unions and flat out asked them "what are our rights?" Once they gained the power and knowledge, they decided to share this lost secret with their peers. 20 years later, when a producer calls an agent searching for dancers, they must have a budget that meets Dancers' Alliance standards. This is a huge victory for the dance and entertainment industry, but what about when you don't have an agent. You aren't in a union and you have no knowledge? Your best defense is to be informed!

When working on a music video that isn't dealing with a low budget:

·       Know that you have the right to ask for hazard pay, if it is necessary. It's an additional $75 a day. But learn what deserves hazard pay and what doesn't.

·       Know that if you work a full 8 hour day in Rehearsal you are entitled to $250

·       Know that if you work a full 10 hour day on Set you are entitled to $475

·       Know that you are entitled to a break after dancing hard for hours in the heat.

·       Know that you are entitled to more then minimum wage.

·       Know that you have rights.

·       Take your power back.

·       Read the rate/regulation packet or what I like to call The Dancer Bible

·       Become Aware. Stop being a victim. Join Dancers' Alliance today. dancersalliance.org

It would take 20 pages to really break down everything I learned from Dana and Galen, but now you have a place to start. Get involved. Read the rate/regulation packet. (Oops. I meant "The Dancer Bible.") Become a member. Gain clarity, security, knowledge and confidence. Once you know exactly what the gatekeepers know, you will be invincible.

On January 21st, 2010 Galen Hooks & Dana Wilson took time out of their busy schedules to chat about Dancers' Alliance.

1. What is the #1 thing that you want for artists to understand about Dancers' Alliance?

DANA: "It about more than just rates.  Young people don't often think about retirements and/or health care, and in my eyes these services aren't just important because they protect us, but they help define us as a PROFESSIONAL work force.  It's about getting respect, for artists who do difficult and valuable work."

2. What is Dancers' Alliance main goal?

GALEN: We have 2 goals. The first is to get music videos, tours and spot dates under Aftra. A..K.A. all the non- union jobs. If that happens, then I'm able to easily apply for health care coverage under a union. Because remember non- union jobs don't get any health care or pension services. The second goal would be for AFTRA and SAG to join forces. Then we have one union. Instead of splitting your income between DA, AFTRA, and SAG, all your money will have one place to pay union fees and invest in pension and health plan.

3. How much of a difference can dancers really make by becoming a Dancers' Alliance member?

DANA: "DA is striving to be the voice of the dance community throughout the world. We have members from Denmark. Germany. And we keep improving rates and conditions. Last year, there was a Michael Jackson project that asked for NON - Dancer Alliance members on purpose. They wanted to pay $400 for 3 full days of work. So DA members fought back and got on our twitters to (suggest that our members NOT attend) the gig.  Production got word of the (DA stand), because it spread to TMZ and the LA Times. In the end, the dancers who booked earned $400 for a 10-hour day on the set. It's about legitimizing a work force."Check out TMZ covering this Story

4.  How do readers sign up as a member?

GALEN:Dancers can register on the website dancersaliiance.org under DA and You. When you are a DA member you will receive email notification on all important informationfor both union and non-union members.  If you're non-union, remember to stay informed; you could become union before you know it, especially if music videos and tours become AFTRA!  And we also inform you when there is a DA meeting. We hold these a few times a year and update dancers on union decisions and improvements. There is actually one coming up in February 2011.

Levi Walker

LA's Most Versatile Photographer

kheringtonlindsay ri

Featured Dancers from left to right: Kherington Payne and Lindsay Richardson.

Levi Walker. Agencies love him. Casting directors' respect him and dancers/choreographers are dying to shoot with him. Levi is one of the most coveted photographers in the dance & entertainment industry and has taken Hollywood by storm.

His clients include: Teresa Espinosa, Tabitha & Napoleon, Marty Kudelka, Dave Scott, Kevin Stea, Chonique Sneed, Lissette Bustamente, Rhapsody James, Gilbert Saldivar, Matt Cady, Dana Wilson, Kherington Payne, Nick Wilson, and so many more.

Levi has a keen eye to capture the perfect headshot for casting directors searching online for the best candidates. It's his laid back personality that make artists feel comfortable in front of the lens. It's his one on one service from beginning to end. It's his trademark white background that cancels all distractions and truly features the client. Colors pop and eyes shine in every photo. Levi has discovered a system where dancers consistently book. Period.

Levi understands and knows first hand what makes gatekeepers open the door of opportunity.  His 25 years of experience as a trained singer/actor in the musical theater circuit, gives him an advantage over his competitors. Before making the move to LA in 2000, he spread his voice in the Big Apple and 12 other countries around the world. He was even one of the producers for the Off-Broadway production of,  "Groovaloo", starring The Groovaloos, at the Union Square Theater in NYC. "Take equal parts 'Fame' and 'A Chorus Line'. Add Hip Hop and mix well." -New York Post. The show was a smash hit, received rave reviews and even achieved an encore with a 36 city National Tour in 2010.This is why his credibility is well deserved and why he is Hollywood's most versatile photographer.

Before leaving for the Holidays, on November 24th, 2010, I received a special treat and shot with Levi for my 2011 headshots. I arrived early to watch him in action with fellow dancer, Lindsay Richardson. The afternoon started with Christmas music playing in the background and then Levi decided to switch it up. He gave Lindsay the luxury to plug in her own IPOD. She ended up shooting her session to hot songs, like Drake's upcoming single "I Get Paper." It blew my mind. It was crazy how laid back and chill the atmosphere was for such a prominent photographer. I don't know about you, but I still have insecurities in front of the camera.

Levi and his team: make you feel 100% stress free. From the moment you schedule an appointment, the Walker Photography team doesn't miss a beat: hair, make-up, wardrobe, directions and encouragement. They remove the pressure from you to make every last decision. Levi and his team truly care about what is best for the client.

In 2010, Levi became the artistic director behind the brand new NOHO Pac in North Hollywood, CA. It is an amazing facility full of art, photography and creativity.  If you live in the LA area make sure to check it out. http://www.nohopac.com/

On January 25th, 2010 Levi Walker was kind enough to answer a few interview questions

1. What inspired you to jump from a professional singer in musical theater to a career in photography?

"I started doing headshots, because I needed a business I could do for myself and I knew that I could do it.  I love helping people with their careers, I always have.  It became a craft I knew I could learn how to do. I took it from a different angle than most. I looked at it as a business, as opposed to an art. How do we market young people or anybody to casting director and producers. The photo is the first glimpse into who the person is. If you are misrepresented, then you miss your own introduction and you can lose a job."

2.What is your thought process behind shooting your unique headshots?

"Headshots aren't brain surgery." People focus so much on headshots being super creative and the bottom line is, it's a marketing tool. That's it. Marketing is repetitive and very plain. My favorite example is Desperate Housewives. Their wardrobe is always the same. Colorful, clean and non-distracting. That is why I shoot a lot of headshots on a white background, because the only color popping off the page is that specific color in an outfit. I change it up a lot with background colors, but White is my favorite."

3. What is the best advice you can give artists about booking with their headshots?

"Casting is partially about a memory game.  I know whenever I've been a part of a casting decision; we talk about the talent as "the girl in the yellow pants", or "the guy with the Mohawk".  Wearing clothes that you wear in your headshots to your auditions helps them remember you!  Wear something that stands out in the crowd-something loud! There are too many people to remember - HELP them remember you. One client forgot his shoe. So we had him wear one red and green shoe. He followed my method and kept this as his trademark for auditions. 3 weeks later he booked a job, b/c casting came out and searched for the guys with 2 different shoes on."

4. When dancers hesitate to shoot with high profile photographers, like yourself, because they feel it's to expensive, what are your thoughts?

"People are always surprised when they find out how inexpensive my headshots are compared to the quality of images they receive.  Dancers are usually hesitant to come to a professional headshot photographer and spend a few hundred dollars, but the bottom line is what is the value of you getting a national tour with someone like Lady Gaga. Just ask Montana Efaw who shot with me and then booked Gaga shortly after. How badly do you want the job? It shows how much you value what you do. When you shoot with someone who is focused on you and your career and has the knowledge of what casting agents and directors are looking for. I don't know necessarily think that my headshots are the best. I think they are professional and a good caliber and represent the talent well. Artists spend a lot of money to get headshots and you don't know if they will work or be good. That can rely on a billion things. You. A bad hair day. The photographer. Sunlight. Rain. Anything. The reason why shooting with me is different is, because we focus on taking all that uneasiness and the questions out of process and no matter what - you'll get a great shot."

5. How do you create such a laid back atmosphere and still produce professional headshots?

"We focus on the customer service side of things, because people are always so nervous about the whole situation of getting headshots. We focus on making them feel comfortable, answering all their questions and walking them step by step through the entire process.  Most photographers' say: " Ok. Want to book? Great. See you next Tuesday @ 9am and give me your money." Rather spending time talking with the client about their careers, where they have been, what they want to accomplish and how they want to get there. I have online system that takes care of all my clients. The second you book with me you immediately receive a thank you and directions. Then they also receive an email with the itinerary, policies/ procedures and educate the performer all before they walk in the door. By the time they shoot, they are so relaxed and they feel like they really know me. They feel comfortable. They get to know Levi as a person. They know we have their back. They don't walk in the door having a billion questions, because most have already been answered. And take care of them all the way up until they actually get their prints."

Looking Back On The Industry Voice Awards

The 1st Annual Industry Voice Awards was an historic night on December 6th, 2010 at Level 3 nightclub in Hollywood, CA. Over 600 fans came out to support their favorite artists in the dance industry. Over 4000 people voted and winners were revealed throughout the night with esteemed acrylic awards from Crown Trophy Bronx.

The show reached a level far past what I had ever envisioned. It ran extremely smooth, Danceplug covered the red carpet, over 17 of LA's hottest choreographers commanded the stage and Carnival was acknowledged for it's 12 years of service with The Lifetime Achievement Award.

Watch Their Danceplug Interview

One day it hit me that if your not the fabulous, Mia Michaels, winning an Emmy, artists aren't awarded for their hard work. In 2009, I had an epiphany to change this stigma. I had written down "I will create an award show for the industry at a Hollywood nightclub in the month of December." I believed in this 100% each and every day and it happened. The Law of Attraction works. If you tell yourself that it will never happen, you believe in it, then it will.

The evening that manifested exceeded way past my expectation. It was truly a blessing. I had a plan to supply you with video footage, but unfortunately the footage was corrupted. Instead of dwelling on the inconvenience, I want to focus on the experience, which was amazing.

End of the Year Highlight

Jaq's Network Presents

"The Show Must Go On"

jac

Written By TIV Voice Writer

Shiva Ware

Jaq's Network includes a team of family & friends, a variety of performers, community volunteers, and the founder, Jacqui Ugarte herself, working together to bring attention and aid to issues in our local communities.

November 11th, 2010 was the birth of Jaq's Network presenting "The Show Must Go On" Fundraiser at The Complete Actors Place located in Sherman Oaks. This event was a united stand to help fund the arts/music/theater programs in at least 1 LAUSD School because of recent drastic budget cuts. Jacqui surpassed her goal that night and actually raised enough money to help 2 schools! The icing on top of a fantastic event demonstrating what positive results bloom out of people coming together, and for Jacqui, this is just the beginning. Special thanks to everyone who came out to support this important cause, and to some of the best performers in the LA area showing up and turning this one of a kind show into a straight up PARTY!

The show consisted of raffles, free food & drinks, a silent auction of artwork and a performance line-up that isn't in your average LA event. Ranging from a lyrical dancer dancing to poetry, sketch comedy, neo-soul singers, rappers and more.

To show you a taste of what you missed first hand, let me introduce you to Jacqui's amazing hand picked entertainers.

Opening act:

1.   Chereese Mackey- performed a very personal contemporary dance to Silent Poetry

First Act Performers:

2.  Nasim & The Magical Planets- A whimsical & earthy band that performed with an extensive amount of energy and love.

3.  Heath Gunn- An injured comedian! Yes ladies and gentlemen, a comedian with a cast on his right leg performed stand up and started with his parody song to Andre 3000's "Green Light" called "Mouth Right". A song he wrote and dedicated to his encounters with toxic breath females. (gotta love it!)

4.Erin & Todd- Boyfriend and girlfriend pair who performed sketch comedy as two strangers on a bench where one recognizes the other from a kinder-garden memory. And well, it just goes crazy from there. Todd portrayed a douche bag guy who just couldn't let go of his childhood days, even in his 30's! It was painfully funny and they both performed beautifully.

5.Lady V- Performed her own naughty rendition of "Big Spender" using nothing but a form-fitting fire red salsa dress, a chair and a cigarette. Towards the end, the crowd soon realized it was just her clever way to kick off the first raffle of the night, and lead them into the intermission, and boy what an closing act it was!

Second Act Performers:

 6. Gabriella Gala Murillo- Miss thing kicked off the 2nd half with a bang! This young lady was the pop superstar of the evening. Hitting the stage with a festive performance outfit full of bedazzle, glitter & shimmer, Gabe did a solo dance performance to Usher's "Monster" track that tore the house down!

7. Alfie- A dare devil dancer taking freestyle dance to another level. Performing b-boy flips and tricks fused with his own "bad boy" swag, this guy was definitely a crowd pleaser. His conspicuous attire consisting of a red face mask and theatrical dance attire, along with his dancing, definitely earned his standing ovation.

8.Laquan Brooks Ft. Pascal & Shiva- Laquan sang one of his original songs "Get It Girl" while his guitar play Pascal melted hearts and Shiva illustrated their beautiful harmonies through freestyle dance. Check out a video collage put together by Laquan himself

9. Trace Augcomfar- Sultry soul singer serenaded the crowd with 2 of her original tracks "I Love LA" & "Losing Me in You".

10. The Club Bullies- WOOOO!! I don't even know how to start with these guys! Let's just say a new school fusion of Outkast, Public Enemy, Q-Tip & Dare I say "Salt N' Pepper"? Well it's only to compare their over the top energy and old school swag with the greats, they are definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Well there you go! Now you have a few good reasons to not dare miss the next Jaq's Network event! Stay connected to what's next from Jacqui and friends by heading to www.facebook.com/jaqs-network.

Signing off until next time.....
