SEASON'S GREETINGS FROM JUST BUFFALO!
Thanks to everyone for making this another great year for literature in Buffalo! We're grateful to all the writers, readers, listeners, curators, donors, teaching artists, teachers, students and everyone one else whose efforts make Buffalo such a great place for the literary arts.
Also, when we return our website will have a whole new look. Most of the new site will go live on January 1, and we hope to get all the bugs out by the end of the month. Check it out in the new year!
Also, see below for the announcement of this year's member writing contest for Flash Fiction, judged by Gary Earl Ross. The awards event and reading will take place on March 8.
Also, Big Night kicks off on January 25 with Toronto Poets Camille Martin and Mark Goldstein. The rest of the performers will be announced when we post the event to the new website in January.

4th Annual Just Buffalo Members' Writing Contest!Just Buffalo Literary Center is pleased to announce the second annual Members' Writing Contest and reading. The contest alternates annually between poetry and fiction. This installment will focus on flash fiction (fiction of 250 words of less) and will be judged by Edgar Award Winning Author Gary Earl Ross.
Winners will be announced at a special reading of all entries at The Western New York Book Arts Center on Thursday, March 8. Two awards will be presented: a Judge's award, chosen by Mr. Ross, and an audience award, to be voted on by the audience present at the reading. Audience Award and Judge's Award winners will each receive a $50 cash prize, a $25 gift certificate from Talking Leaves Books, a certificate of recognition from Just Buffalo, and publication in Artvoice.
Contest is open to Just Buffalo members in good standing at the time of submission. Contestants may join Just Buffalo at the time of submission by visiting the Just Buffalo web site or by sending a check for $35 along with their entry.
GUIDELINES
1. Submit one piece of flash fiction on any subject that is NO LONGER THAN 250 WORDS. Pieces that exceed the word limit will be rejected with no refund of membership costs.
2. Include a separate cover page that includes name, address, telephone and email. DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON THE FICTION ITSELF. JUDGING IS BLIND. One flash fiction piece per entrant.
3. ELECTRONIC SUBMISSIONS GREATLY PREFERRED
Submit by email to: submissions@justbuffalo.org If you send hard copy, please mail to MEMBERS FLASH FICTION CONTEST, c/o Just Buffalo Literary Center, 617 Main St., Suit 202A, Buffalo, NY 14203.
4. Submissions will not be returned. Submissions by non-members or lapsed members will be rejected unless annual membership ($35) is paid in full before contest deadline. If you are unsure of your membership status, write us a info@justbuffalo.org to find out.
