Time is Running out to Register for Chautauqua Writers' Festival. Only eight openings remain for those interested in becoming students in Chautauqua Writers' Center's eighth annual Writers' Festival.
The festival, which is co-sponsored by Clarion University, Penn State Erie and University of North Carolina at Wilmington, will be held from June 16 to June 19 and features award-winning writers of poetry, fiction and nonfiction.
Fiction writers Jill McCorkle and Ron Carlson, nonfiction writers Philip Gerard and Valerie Boyd, and poets Frank X. Gaspar and Denise Duhamel will all be at Chautauqua Institution for this year's festival.
Each of the six writers instructs workshops for up to twelve students at a time. Registrants choose between the writers and are assigned workshops based on the order in which they register.
Limited openings remain for each of the workshops. Spots are also available in the Conference Program, which includes workshops, individual conferences, panel discussions and much more.
Housing and meal plans are available. Those interested in enrolling in the Writers' Festival can visit http://writers.ciweb.org for more information.
The Writers' Festival also provides excellent entertainment opportunities for the general public, including readings by the workshop leaders. Readings take place each night from Thursday, June 16 to Saturday, June 18. Tickets are $10 at the door.
