Winners will be announced at a special member's reading at The Western New York Book Arts Center on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 7:30 PM.  Two awards will be presented: a Judge's award, chosen by Ms.  Baird, and an audience award, to be voted on by the audience present at the event.

Audience Award and Judge's Award winners will each receive a $50 cash prize, a gift certificate from Talking Leaves Books, publication in Artvoice and a certificate of recognition from Just Buffalo.

This book is the first in a cycle of novels set in the Muslim world motivated by the author's sense of responsibility as a writer to serve as a steward for the cultural richness of the Islamic world at a time it is often being misrepresented in the West.
