Letter From
the President
Dear Friends,
Spring is a time for growth, and here at Greyston, we're seeing growth everywhere! Last week, we celebrated the grand opening of Nawab, a new gourmet restaurant and catering facility in our own Philipsburgh Hall on Hudson Street in Downtown Yonkers.
This coming Saturday, April 21st at 10:00 am, we're celebrating Earth Day by opening a new Community Garden at 181 Buena Vista Avenue. Please join Greyston and our friends, including Yonker's Mayor Mike Spano, for a wonderful event.
We are also growing in other areas as well. The Bakery is producing a wide array of products for new customers and has hired 10 new apprentices bringing their total to 65 employees. Our Workforce Development program is working on 3 government contracts, the Maitri Center is increasing its membership and Greyston's Child Care Center is actively recruiting to fill open slots for infants to 5 year olds.
Plus, our annual benefit is only a month away - so make your reservations today! (See story below).
All of this is happening as part of Greyston's continuing efforts to create jobs and provide integrated programs for individuals and their families to move forward on their path to self-sufficiency.
If you have a few minutes, click on this link and see my latest interview on Pleasantville Community Television!
As always, feel free to reach out with any questions or comments.
Thank you, Steven Brown PS. If you'd like to join Greyston's family of supporters, click here. |
