Letter From the President
I am excited to welcome Jennifer Solomon to Greyston as our new Chief Financial Officer. Jennifer brings a wealth of entrepreneurial and business experience to her job, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the executive team.
In a few weeks, I will be instituting a new "Greyston Update" conference call. Like an analyst call on Wall Street, this conference call will give Greyston supporters an opportunity to hear an update about Greyston, an interview from someone in one of our programs, and an opportunity to ask questions. Look for dial-in information soon.
Please take a few moments to read about our recent Child Care Center opening, upcoming concert at Paulie's in Pleasantville and an exciting opportunity with Customers Bank.
As always, l look forward to hearing from you.
Steven Brown

Greyston Expands Child Care Center
 | |
Steven Brown, Patricia McDow, Pat Lanza, Chuck Lesnick, Pete Smith & Lou Kirven cut the ribbon!
|
Greyston Foundation is proud to announce that it has expanded its nationally accredited Child Care Center and increased its capacity to care for infants. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, September 20th and attended by City Council President Chuck Lesnick, Council woman Patricia McDow, representatives from Westchester County and Yonkers agencies and Greyston board members and supporters.
"We're incredibly proud of the services we offer to the community through our Child Care Center and are excited to meet the growing need for infant care in the community," said Steven Brown, President of Greyston Foundation. "Greyston continually strives to remain flexible and provide the opportunity and skills necessary for individuals and their families to become self-sufficient. Offering, safe, educational and affordable child care is an integral part of our mission."
The Child Care Center is celebrating its 20th Anniversary providing excellent childcare to low-income families in southwest Yonkers. The Center currently serves 87 children between the ages of six weeks to five years old. With the new infant rooms, there will be an additional 12 spaces for infants, bringing the total infant capacity to 28. The Center was awarded the prestigious National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation in December of 2002. It is one of only 6 Centers in Westchester to be accredited, and the only one in Yonkers.
Funding for the expansion was provided by the Agnes and Thomas Carvel Foundation, the Columbine Foundation and the Lanza Family.
Coverage of the event can be found at News12.

Jennifer spent more than a decade on Wall Street as a senior equity research executive. Customers Bank creates
win/win opportunity
If you or someone you know deposits an escrow account at Customers Bank - Greyston can benefit!
Customers Bank will code and track these accounts and in each first quarter of the calendar year, will pay ½% (50 basis points) on the average annual balance in these coded escrow accounts to Greyston. This is not a one-time donation, as long as the account is open, Greyston will receive the donation each year based on the balances. Here is an example: Customer opens an Escrow Account with an annual balance of $1,000,000 - Greyston gets a check presented by the customer for $5,000. If the annual balance is $10,000,000 - Greyston gets a check for $50,000! There is no limit to how many businesses can select Greyston or the amount of money we can receive. Also the business that opens the Escrow Account does not lose their interest. They still get their .25% on their deposit on top of Greyston getting the .50%! It is truly a WIN/WIN/WIN.For more information, contact Jonathan Greengrass at 914-376-3900 x295.
