Here are the top 5 reasons retirees and soon-to-be retirees should sign up for the ReTooling Build today!
1. Give back to your community in a tangible and meaningful way. The ReTooling Build aims to inspire healthy and active retirees in volunteerism and advocacy to make Toronto a better place to live for all.
2. Your ReTool experience will work with your schedule. Build one day, build all 6 days, or build a few days - it's up to you! Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. Build day runs from 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
3. No construction experience required. Meet new people, learn new skills, and put your time and energy to work by making a difference.
4. It's fun! As if helping others weren't enough, there will also be tons of fun activities such as games, inspiring speakers, delicious lunches, entertainment, and prizes to keep volunteers motivated throughout the day!
5. Bring your friends! Come out to build with your retired friends, family or past co-workers. The ReTooling Build is a great opportunity to get together or reconnect while you help build homes for families living in need.
Habitat for Humanity Toronto's ReTooling Build will be held from September 20 - 25, 2010 at the 4572 Kingston Road build site.

"Hello all! I am looking for support from friends, family, and colleagues to sponsor me for Habitat for Humanity Toronto's 2010 ReTooling Blitz Build. Since I'm now a retiree and a Habitat for Humanity volunteer, this go-live week would be a great opportunity for me and others to build fresh from the ground up... I'm asking every one of you to donate whatever amount you wish... Please let me know if I can depend on you. Thanks." - Jean Lew
"
This year Habitat for Humanity Toronto will complete its 250th home. According to a recent survey, 100% of high-school kids living in Habitat-built homes have completed high-school and of those, 100% have gone on to college/university. Think what a difference Habitat Toronto is making to educate kids and to help to break the cycle-of-poverty!" - Bruce F. Cameron
