ReTooling for retirees

ReTooling Blitz BuildHave you heard the news? Habitat for Humanity Toronto is hosting a ReTooling Blitz Build from September 20th to 25th! This event will bring retired or soon-to-be-retired people from Toronto and around the world together to build homes for Habitat Toronto homeowners.

Want to learn more about this event? You're in luck! Habitat Toronto is holding a ReTooling Blitz Info Session on June 10th from 1:30p.m. - 2:30 p.m., at the Malvern Family Resource Centre, 1371 Neilson Rd. This is your chance to learn how you can get involved and give back to your community through volunteering.

This Info Session will work on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact Jennifer Winfield at signmeup@torontohabitat.on.ca or call her at 416-755-7353 etx. 225 to learn more.

Skip that trip to the florist and give to Habitat Toronto instead!

Mother's DayIt's true that the Mother's Day Build being held this Sunday May 9th is full... but you can still support Habitat Toronto in celebration of the moms in your life by making a Mother's Day donation!

When you make a Mother's Day donation in your mom's/wife's/sister's name, a card* will be sent to your mom to let her know of your generous gift. Your donation will celebrate your mom by ensuring other mothers living in need receive a hand up, not a hand out.

So forget that bouquet of tulips this year and instead make a gift that truly keeps on giving.

To make your Mother's Day donation, please contact Roohina Abdullah at rabdullah@torontohabitat.on.ca or 416-755-7353 ext. 238.

* Habitat for Humanity Toronto is not able to ensure cards will be delivered by Sunday, May 9th, 2010.
