Mother's Day Build - It's back! The annual Mother's Day Build will be held on Sunday May 9th at the William's Way build site.
Mark this date on your calendar as the day to give more than flowers and help give Toronto families living in need a hand up, not a hand out.
Stay tuned for more information on this great event in April's e-newsletter.
Timeraiser - Held on Saturday March 20th, The 7th annual Timeraiser is a unique event that gives young professionals the opportunity to donate their time (instead of dollars) in a silent art auction while mingling with fellow civic-minded guests.
Here's how it works:
1. Choose your charity (such as Habitat for Humanity Toronto.)
2. Bid on art using volunteer hours rather than money.
3. Get started on your rewarding volunteer experience!
It's that simple! Click here to learn more about this event and how you can further support Habitat for Humanity Toronto. |
| A full household now has a home |
With five sons ranging from toddlers to teenagers, Thulisile Mathabela runs a full household. Her boys make a point of keeping their small apartment tidy and welcoming. "Although there are too many of us living under one roof, we work together to keep a clean and friendly atmosphere," Thulisile says.
The family regularly leaves their substandard apartment to play soccer and basketball. She admits that before Habitat Toronto, life often felt hopeless. Living in a cramped apartment in need of repair and working long hours to support her family, Thulisile couldn't fathom how she could make life better for her sons.
