I had the privilege of being one of the 20 interior designers chosen to design a room. Each of us had 6 weeks to create their fantasy room.
The empty room painted linen white, our starting point.
Here my decorative painters are applying a striae on the walls of the bedroom which is a custom color glaze done with mica powders. The sheer gold color of the glaze allows the base color to come through with the micas in the glaze providing luminosity while reflecting the light and turning the base into shades of aqua.
The ceiling incorporated both silver and gold. By distressing the actual silver toned metal leaf, exposing the gold underneath, followed by a sheer metallic gold glaze, the ceiling had more depth and warmth.

Final touches being put on the bedroom. Here you see the pictures being hung. The fabulous 19th century Japanese screen. This piece served both as the focal point of the room, not only as art work, but as the headboard.
